The Rabbit and The Turtle

One day a rabbit was boasting about how fast he could run. He was laughing at the turtle for
being so slow. Much to the rabbit’s surprise, the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit
thought this was a good joke and accepted the challenge. The fox was to be the umpire of the
race. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle, just like everyone thought. The
rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was hot and tired and
decided to stop and take a short nap. Even if the turtle passed him, he would be able to race to
the finish line ahead of him. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never
quit no matter how hot or tired he got. He just kept going.

However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle
anywhere! He went at full-speed to the finish line but found the turtle there waiting for him.
Artinya :

Suatu hari seekor kelinci sedang membual tentang seberapa cepat dia bisa berlari. Dia tertawa di
kura-kura karena begitu lambat. Banyak kejutan kelinci, kura-kura menantangnya untuk
perlombaan. Kelinci pikir ini adalah lelucon yang baik dan menerima tantangan. Rubah itu
menjadi wasit lomba. Sebagai balapan dimulai, kelinci berlari jauh di depan kura-kura, sama
seperti orang berpikir. Kelinci sampai ke titik tengah dan tidak bisa melihat kura-kura di mana
saja. Dia panas dan lelah dan memutuskan untuk berhenti dan tidur siang singkat. Bahkan jika
kura-kura lewat, dia akan bisa berlomba ke garis finish di depannya. Selama ini kura-kura terus
berjalan langkah demi langkah demi langkah. Dia tidak pernah berhenti tidak peduli seberapa
panas atau lelah dia. Dia hanya terus berjalan.

Namun, kelinci tidur lebih lama dari dia berpikir dan bangun. Dia tidak bisa melihat kura-kura di
mana saja! Dia pergi pada kecepatan penuh ke garis finish tetapi menemukan kura-kura
ada menunggunya.
2. Contoh Storytelling tentang The Three Questions King Akbar and Birbal

King Akbar was very fond of Birbal. This made a certain courtier very jealous. Now this courtier
always wanted to be chief minister, but this was not possible as Birbal filled that position.  One
day Akbar praised Birbal in front of the courtier. This made the courtier very angry and he said
that the king praised Birbal unjustly and if Birbal could answer three of his questions, he would
accept the fact that Birbal was intelligent. Akbar always wanting to test Birbals wit readily
agreed.
The three questions were

1. How many stars are there in the sky ?


2. Where is the centre of the Earth ?
3. And how many men and how many women are there in the world ?

Immediately Akbar asked Birbal the three questions and informed him that if he could not
answer them, he would have to resign as chief minister.

To answer the first question, Birbal brought a hairy sheep and said, “There are as many stars in
the sky as there is hair on the sheep’s body. My friend the courtier is welcome to count them if
he likes.”
To answer the second question, Birbal drew a couple of lines on the floor and bore an iron rod in
it and said, “this is the center of the Earth, the courtier may measure it himself if he has any
doubts.”
In answer to the third question, Birbal said, “Counting the exact number of men and women in
the world would be a problem as there are some specimens like our courtier friend here who
cannot easily be classified as either. Therefore if all people like him are killed, then and only
then can one count the exact number.”

Artinya :

Raja Akbar sangat menyukai Birbal. Ini membuat punggawa tertentu sangat cemburu. Sekarang
punggawa ini selalu ingin menjadi menteri, tapi ini tidak mungkin karena Birbal diisi posisi itu.
Suatu hari Akbar memuji Birbal di depan punggawa tersebut. Hal ini membuat punggawa sangat
marah dan ia mengatakan bahwa raja memuji Birbal adil dan jika Birbal bisa menjawab tiga
pertanyaan, ia akan menerima kenyataan bahwa Birbal cerdas. Akbar selalu ingin menguji
Birbals dan Birbal langsung menyetujuinya.

Tiga pertanyaannya adalah:


1. Berapa banyak bintang yang ada di langit ?
2. Dimana pusat bumi ?
3. Dan berapa banyak laki-laki dan berapa banyak perempuan yang ada di dunia?
Segera Akbar meminta Birbal tiga pertanyaan dan memberitahunya bahwa jika ia tidak bisa
menjawabnya, ia harus mengundurkan diri sebagai menteri.

Untuk menjawab pertanyaan pertama, Birbal membawa domba berbulu dan berkata, "Ada
banyak bintang di langit karena ada rambut di tubuh domba. Teman saya punggawa tersebut
dipersilahkan untuk menghitungnya jika dia suka. "
Untuk menjawab pertanyaan kedua, Birbal menarik beberapa baris di lantai dan menanggung
batang besi di dalamnya dan berkata, "Ini adalah pusat bumi, punggawa dapat mengukurnya
sendiri jika ia memiliki keraguan."
Dalam menjawab pertanyaan ketiga, Birbal mengatakan, "Menghitung jumlah pasti pria dan
wanita di dunia akan menjadi masalah karena ada beberapa spesimen seperti teman punggawa
kami di sini yang tidak dapat dengan mudah diklasifikasikan sebagai. Oleh karena itu jika semua

The Bear and Two Friends

Once two friends were walking through the forest. They knew that anything dangerous
can happen to them at any time in the forest. So they promised each other that they
would remain united in any case of danger.

Suddenly, they saw a large bear approaching them. One of the friends at once climbed
a nearby tree. But the other one did not know how to climb. So being led by his common
sense, he lay down on the ground breathless, pretending to be a dead man.

The bear came near the man lying on the ground. It smelt in his ears, and slowly left the
place. Because the bears do not touch the dead creatures.Now the friend on the tree
came down and asked his friend on the ground, “Friend, what did the bear tell you into
your ears?” The other friend replied, “The bear advised me not to believe a false friend.”

Artinya :

Setelah dua teman berjalan melalui hutan. Mereka tahu bahwa sesuatu yang
berbahaya dapat terjadi pada mereka setiap saat di hutan. Jadi mereka saling berjanji
bahwa mereka akan tetap bersatu dalam kasus bahaya.

Tiba-tiba, mereka melihat beruang besar mendekati mereka. Salah satu teman
sekaligus memanjat pohon di dekatnya. Tapi yang lain tidak tahu bagaimana untuk
mendaki. Jadi yang dipimpin oleh akal sehatnya, ia berbaring di tanah terengah-engah,
berpura-pura menjadi orang mati.

Beruang itu mendekati pria tergeletak di tanah. Mencium di telinganya, dan perlahan-

4. Contoh Storytelling tentang Unity is Strength

Once upon a time, there was a flock of doves that flew in search of food led by their king. One
day, they had flown a long distance and were very tired. The dove king encouraged them to fly a
little further. The smallest dove picked up speed and found some rice scattered beneath a banyan
tree. So all the doves landed and began to eat.

Suddenly a net fell over them and they were all trapped. They saw a hunter approaching carrying
a huge club. The doves desperately fluttered their wings trying to get out, but to no avail. The
king had an idea. He advised all the doves to fly up together carrying the net with them. He said
that there was strength in unity.

Each dove picked up a portion of the net and together they flew off carrying the net with them.
The hunter looked up in astonishment. He tried to follow them, but they were flying high over
hills and valleys. They flew to a hill near a city of temples where there lived a mouse who could
help them. He was a faithful friend of the dove king.

When the mouse heard the loud noise of their approach, he went into hiding. The dove king
gently called out to him and then the mouse was happy to see him. The dove king explained that
they had been caught in a trap and needed the mouse’s help to gnaw at the net with his teeth and
set them free.
The mouse agreed saying that he would set the king free first. The king insisted that he first free
his subjects and the king last. The mouse understood the king’s feelings and complied with his
wishes. He began to cut the net and one by one all the doves were freed including the dove king.
They all thanked the mouse and flew away together, united in their strength.

Artinya :

Sekali waktu, ada kawanan merpati yang terbang mencari makanan yang dipimpin oleh raja
mereka. Suatu hari, mereka telah terbang jarak jauh dan sangat lelah. Merpati Raja mendorong
mereka untuk terbang sedikit lebih jauh. Merpati terkecil mengambil kecepatan dan menemukan
beberapa beras yang tersebar di bawah pohon beringin. Jadi semua merpati mendarat dan mulai
makan.

Tiba-tiba jaring jatuh atas mereka dan mereka semua terperangkap. Mereka melihat seorang
pemburu mendekati membawa klub besar. Merpati sangat berkibar sayap mereka mencoba untuk
keluar, tetapi tidak berhasil. Raja memiliki ide. Dia menyarankan semua merpati terbang
bersama-sama membawa jaring dengan mereka. Dia mengatakan bahwa ada kekuatan dalam

bahwa mereka telah terjebak dalam perangkap dan membutuhkan bantuan mouse untuk
menggerogoti bersih dengan giginya dan membebaskan mereka.

Mouse setuju mengatakan bahwa ia akan mengatur raja bebas pertama. Raja bersikeras bahwa ia
pertama kali membebaskan rakyatnya dan raja yang terakhir. Mouse mengerti perasaan raja dan
memenuhi keinginannya. Dia mulai memotong jaring dan satu per satu semua merpati
dibebaskan termasuk raja burung merpati.

Mereka semua mengucapkan terima kasih mouse dan terbang bersama-sama, bersatu dalam
kekuatan mereka.

5. Contoh Storytelling tentang The Monkey and The Crocodille

Once upon a time, a clever monkey lived in a tree that bore juicy, red rose apples. He was very
happy. One fine day, a crocodile swam up to that tree and told the monkey that he had traveled a
long distance and was in search of food as he was very hungry. The kind monkey offered him a
few rose apples. The crocodile enjoyed them very much and asked the monkey whether he could
come again for some more fruit. The generous monkey happily agreed.

The crocodile returned the next day. And the next. And the next one after that. Soon the two
became very good friends. They discussed their lives, their friends and family, like all friends do.
The crocodile told the monkey that he had a wife and that they lived on the other side of the
river. So the kind monkey offered him some extra rose apples to take home to his wife. The
crocodile’s wife loved the rose apples and made her husband promise to get her some every day.

Meanwhile, the friendship between the monkey and the crocodile deepened as they spent more
and more time together. The crocodile’s wife started getting jealous. She wanted to put an end to
this friendship. So she pretended that she could not believe that her husband could be friends
with a monkey. Her husband tried to convince her that he and the monkey shared a true
friendship. The crocodile’s wife thought to herself that if the monkey lived on a diet of rose
monkeys, his flesh would be very sweet. So she asked the crocodile to invite the monkey to their
house.

The crocodile was not happy about this. He tried to make the excuse that it would be difficult to
get the monkey across the river. But his wife was determined to eat the monkey’s flesh. So she
thought of a plan. One day, she pretended to be very ill and told the crocodile that the doctor said
that she would only recover if she ate a monkey’s heart. If her husband wanted to save her life,
he must bring her his friend’s heart.

The crocodile was aghast. He was in a dilemma. On the one hand, he loved his friend. On the
other, he could not possibly let his wife die. The crocodile’s wife threatened him saying that if he
did not get her the monkey’s heart, she would surely die.

So the crocodile went to the rose apple tree and invited the monkey to come home to meet his
wife. He told the monkey that he could ride across the river on the crocodile’s back. The monkey
happily agreed. As they reached the middle of the river, the crocodile began to sink. The
frightened monkey asked him why he was doing that. The crocodile explained that he would
have to kill the monkey to save his wife’s life. The clever monkey told him that he would gladly
give up his heart to save the life of the crocodile’s wife, but he had left his heart behind in the
rose apple tree. He asked the crocodile to make haste and turn back so that the monkey could go
get his heart from the apple tree.

The silly crocodile quickly swam back to the rose apple tree. The monkey scampered up the tree
to safety. He told the crocodile to tell his wicked wife that she had married the biggest fool in the
world.

Artinya :
Pada suatu hari monyet pintar tinggal di sebuah pohon yang melahirkan juicy, mawar merah
apel. Dia sangat bahagia. Suatu hari, seekor buaya berenang ke pohon itu dan mengatakan
kepada monyet bahwa ia telah melakukan perjalanan jarak jauh dan mencari makanan karena ia
sangat lapar. Jenis monyet menawarinya beberapa mawar apel. Buaya menikmati mereka sangat
banyak dan bertanya monyet apakah ia bisa datang lagi untuk beberapa buah lagi. Monyet murah
hati gembira setuju.

Buaya kembali keesokan harinya. Dan berikutnya. Dan yang berikutnya setelah itu. Segera dua
menjadi teman yang sangat baik. Mereka membahas kehidupan mereka, teman-teman dan
keluarga mereka, seperti semua teman-teman lakukan. Buaya kepada monyet bahwa ia punya
istri dan bahwa mereka tinggal di sisi lain sungai. Jadi jenis monyet menawarinya beberapa
tambahan naik apel untuk dibawa pulang ke istrinya. Istri buaya mencintai apel mawar dan
membuat suami janjinya untuk mendapatkan dia beberapa setiap hari.
Sementara itu, persahabatan antara monyet dan buaya diperdalam karena mereka menghabiskan
lebih banyak waktu bersama-sama. Istri buaya mulai mendapatkan cemburu. Dia ingin

mereka.

Buaya tidak senang tentang hal ini. Dia mencoba untuk membuat alasan bahwa akan sulit untuk
mendapatkan monyet di seberang sungai. Tapi istrinya bertekad untuk makan daging monyet.
Jadi dia memikirkan rencana. Suatu hari, dia berpura-pura sakit dan mengatakan kepada buaya
bahwa dokter mengatakan bahwa dia hanya akan pulih jika ia makan hati monyet. Jika suaminya
ingin menyelamatkan hidupnya, ia harus membawanya hati temannya.

Buaya itu terperanjat. Dia dalam dilema. Di satu sisi, ia mencintai temannya. Di sisi lain, dia
tidak mungkin membiarkan istrinya mati. Istri buaya mengancamnya dengan mengatakan bahwa
jika dia tidak mendapatkan hatinya monyet, dia pasti akan mati.

Jadi buaya pergi ke pohon apel mawar dan mengundang monyet untuk datang ke rumah untuk
menemui istrinya. Dia mengatakan kepada monyet bahwa ia bisa naik di seberang sungai di
belakang buaya. Monyet bahagia setuju. Ketika mereka sampai di tengah sungai, buaya mulai
tenggelam. 

Monyet takut bertanya mengapa ia melakukan hal itu. Buaya menjelaskan bahwa ia harus
membunuh monyet untuk menyelamatkan nyawa istrinya. Monyet pintar mengatakan kepadanya
bahwa dia dengan senang hati akan menyerahkan hatinya untuk menyelamatkan nyawa istri
buaya, tapi dia telah meninggalkan hatinya tertinggal di pohon jambu. Dia meminta buaya untuk
bergegas dan kembali sehingga monyet bisa mendapatkan hatinya dari pohon apel.

Buaya konyol cepat berenang kembali ke pohon jambu. Monyet memanjat naik pohon untuk
keselamatan. Dia mengatakan kepada buaya untuk memberitahu istri jahat bahwa dia telah
menikah dengan orang bodoh terbesar di dunia.
