BANKING
 Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation increases the insurance coverage
for depositors in all insured banks to Rs 5 lakhs.
 According to the RBI, the special lending window with CRR exemption will be open from
February 14 and incremental loans disbursed under this facility will have CRR exemption
for the next five years.
 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a draft framework for authorization of a pan-
India new umbrella entity (NUE) for retail payment systems.
 As per RBI data, gross NPAs of PSBs rose from Rs 2,79,016 crore as on March 31, 2015,
to Rs 6,84,732 crore as on March 31, 2017 and Rs 8,95,601 crore as on March 31, 2018.

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first-ever Khelo India University Games
at Cuttack in Odisha. With this inauguration, India joined the League of Nations where
University Games are organized.
 The 2020 Asian Wrestling Championships, organized by the International Olympic
Committee (IOC) and United World Wrestling (UWW) , an international governing body
for the sport of amateur wrestling, was held at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in Indira
Gandhi Arena, New Delhi. Japan topped the medal tally with 16 medals( 8 Gold, 4 Silver,
4 Bronze).While India finished 3rd rank with 20 medals( 5 Gold, 6 Silver, 9 Bronze).
