Herb Garden Shawl

This is my take on a simple all knit shawl. Essentially

not much different then many others out there. The
difference here is that the pattern has been modified to omit
the point. Why? Because I don't like having a point trailing
along behind me knocking objects off of low surfaces; I
don't end up sitting on the end, making it easer to slip off;
and, my favorite reason, it takes less yarn and less time.

Materials
3 skeins Lion Homespun
(the model pictured used the colorway - Herb Garden)
10.5 circular needle (use a long enough needle so that
you can try on as you go.)

Cast on 50 sts

Row 1: Knit one row across (knit in tail as you go)

Row 2: K 1, yo, k1, *yo, k2tog; rep from * across ending with either k2 to k1
depending on what fits.
Row 3: K1, yo, knit to end.

Repeat row 3 until there are 170 stitches on needle. (This is 1X and the
fabric relaxes to about 80", making gauge about 4.25 stitches per inch. Use
that measurement to adjust the pattern to your size.)

Bind off with size 13 needle or do a loose bind off as follows:

K2,* k2tog on right needle, k1; rep from * across. After binding off the
length from neck to waist (or so) is about 26 inches.

That's it. A bit of simple TV knitting that will give you something to help
take the chill off.
