PROJECT SCOPE
This document describes a proposal for carrying vibration tests on various components for Roots
Industries India Limited, Coimbatore.
The product along with fixture and all other necessary accessories will be provided by Roots
Industries India Limited, Coimbatore and ADAMS will provide the Vibration Shaker, together with
Slip table, Controller & Accelerometers.
In this project ADAMS will act as a test & measurement co-coordinator for customer.
Not all the procedures as described in detail in this proposal a global overview of the different steps,
resources and planning is given.
ADAMS assistance is defined as follows:

Vibration tests will be carried test procedure on samples as per the details given below.
1. Resonance search and dwell:
Frequency range: 5 – 50 Hz
Input acceleration: 1 ‘g’ (peak)
Dwell at: resonance frequency
Duration: 1,000,000 cycles per axis.
Axes: X, Y & Z.
No. of samples: 11 at one fixture.
INSTRUMNETS REQUIRED (will be provided by ADAMS):

1. Vibration test system.
2. Slip table.
3. Vibration controller with sine, random & shock software.
4. Accelerometers – 1 uniaxial accelerometer for control and 1 uniaxial accelerometer for
measurement of response. Any additional requirement of accelerometers will be at extra
cost.
DELIVERABLES AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS:

For the purpose of this proposal, all tests will be performed at ADAMS test house in Chennai.
ADAMS provides:
 Test engineer.
 Vibration test facility, instrumentation and sensors.
 Full confidential treatment of all information directly related to the customer application.
 The test team will have sufficient experience in product durability testing, including knowledge
of hardware and analysis software.

 Test reports are foreseen in the proposal (default ADAMS format) and any such request must
be made in advance, if report in other formats are required.
 Only visual inspection of the product at the end of test is foreseen.
Customer provides:
 One engineer as contact person and responsible of customer team.

 Product to be tested, together with the fixture and other necessary equipments.
 A full debriefing on the actual problem, including a prior knowledge, test and analysis results or
other information that relate to the problem and can be shared with ADAMS.
 It is assumed that the test will be conducted in actual boundary condition.
PLANNING:
The planning will be made in common agreement with the customer.
FINANCIAL PROPOSAL:
Vibration testing cost: Rs. 3,500/- per hour.
GST: Extra will be charged at the applicable rates at the time of billing. The prevailing rate now is
18%.
Minimum billing charges – Rs. 20,000/-. In case of cancellation of purchase order for any reason,
minimum amount will be charged.
Transportation charges of components and test fixture to and from our test facility in Chennai will
be borne by you.
Validity of proposal: 30 days.

Payment terms: 100% against Invoice.
Start date: after receiving the purchase order, samples and payment.
