these activities had taken place.

Economic Activities
1. Ancestors obtained food by hunting and fishing taken directly from mountains, seas and the bounties of
nature.
2. Creation of groups and the presence of large number of livestock have made man settle in an area for a
longer period of time. Realization of a greater need for planning, saving and setting aside of stocks was
made necessary.
3. Economic activities were characterized by the presence of manufacturing companies in certain areas. The
concept of mass production was developed.
4. The needs of the family were being satisfied largely by the efforts and contributions of the members of the
family.
5. Economic and social relations spread among various families resulting in the rise of the village economy.
6. During the primitive era, exchange was done through barter. Money was not used, instead commodities are
used in exchange of the goods and services rendered.
7. Credit is the power to obtain economic goods and services in exchange for the promise to pay the agreed
equivalent at some future time
8. Money is anything which is characterized by its general acceptability, it redeem ability in precious metals
or public acceptance in any institution using it.
9. Phase that involves the group of villages into bigger and broader social units.
10. A country expands its economic relationship through international trade and diplomatic cooperation.
