creative thinking approach
Answer:
1. Learning activity 1 :procedure text; Manual
In this learning activity, I have learned what manual is, social function, generic
structure and language feature of procedure text; manual. Moreover I am able to
analyze the similarities and differences between a numbers of procedure texts in
manual type. By learning this activity I can deepen my knowledge about the material
and deliver what I get from this activity to my students. In other hand by this learning
activity, I get much information how to apply in teaching activities. We can combine the
ICT in teaching method to increase students’ creativity. As a teacher can ask students to
find the example of procedure text; manual in other resources, then ask to analyze the
generic structure, social function and language feature of the text. Nowadays many
applications can be used to make manual, so students can improve their ability to
compose a manual itself by using ICT, like micrrosoft publisher, canva etc.
2. Learning Activity 2 : Recipe
In this learning activity I have learned the kind of procedure text, namely recipe. I
have learned the generic structure, social function, and language feature. Actually tis
material is not something new for us, but by learning this activity I can learn this
material deeply. Actually the generic structure of recipe and manual is same, because
both of them are kinds of report text. As a teacher, we can apply this material for our
students by giving project like making video of cook something, after that should be
uploaded in social media like youtube, instagram or facebook. As everybody knows that
our students are gen Z, they like ICT, so when we implemented the project by ICT, they
will be more interesting. It can improve students’ creativity. In 21 century, teaching and
learning process should include 4C namely, communicative, critical thinking,
collaboration and creativity.
3. Learning Activity 3 : Itinerary
According to this module, I have a new material from this learning activity. An
itinerary usually contains any information dealing with travel or journey such as
schedule of visit, time, dates, transportation, and other information. When I read this
material firstly, I get confused to differentiate both itinerary and schedule. But after get
from other resources that itinerary is more details information than schedule of the
activity. I can be something new when we deliver for our students. As a teacher, we can
give project to make a flyer of itinerary as a product of the learning activity. Itinerary
help us to manage our time and schedule of our vacation.
4. Learning Activity 4 : News Item
In this Learning Activity, I have learned about News Item. By learning this modul I can
analyze a series of news item texts meaningfully. Moreover, I can compare the social
functions of news item texts regarding the context of situation, the target readers, the
points of interests or importance. News Item is the complicated text, so students should
learn deeply this material to make easily understanding the materials. From this activity
I get many suggestions to implement this material to our students. For example by
digital story telling will make students interesting to compose news Item happily. We
can teach the grammar integrated language feature of the text by using SFL approach.
In conclusion by learning Module of English for practical in use, I have learned
the material that I have learned deeply. I not only get the material but also I get many
knowledge how implement this material for our students. Moreover, I get many
references of application that can be used in learning and teaching method from my
