Installing the CAL client for Android and installing the ServiceHost through CAL

Android Service Host deployment scheduling in EMC


1. Login to the EMC server.

2. Navigate to the below location.

EMC | Enterprise |Setup |Hardware/Interfaces | CAL Packages (New)

3. Select the ‘Simphony’ zone.

4. Select the package from the ‘Simphony’ zone that requires a deployment schedule.

E.g. ‘ServiceHost2.700’ package


View ANDROID platform type is available under ‘Package Contents’ tab.
5. Navigate to ‘CAL Package Configuration’ tab and select ‘69-Android’ as the platform type.

6. Navigate to ‘Deployment Schedules’ tab and click on ‘Add Deployment’ link.

7. Enter required data for the deployment specifying the ‘Deployment Type’ as either
‘1 - Property/Enterprise’ OR ‘2 - Specific Service Host’.

8. Save the changes.

9. CAL package is ready to download now.


Configure Workstation for mTablet Device
1. Select ‘Workstation Client’ as the workstation Type.

2. Assign the workstation to a Revenue Center.

3. Now user can use this workstation to be configured in mTablet.

Configure Workstation for MC40 device


1. Select ‘Mobile MICROS’ as the workstation Type.

2. Assign the workstation to a Revenue Center.

3. Now user can use this workstation to be configured in MC40.

Android CAL Client initial installation in the device via EGateway


In order to allow ‘.apk’ files to be accessible via web, perform the following configurations on the
Application Server.

1. Open IIS web server.

2. Navigate to Simphony2/Egateway/Download.

3. Open ‘MIME Types’ feature and check whether “.apk” extension is available. If not add the
“.apk” to the MIME Types by selecting "Add".
4. Under File Name Extension enter ".apk"

5. Under MIME Type enter "application/vnd.android.package-archive".

6. Perform a restart of IIS.

7. Open the web browser and enter the EGateway URL.

8. User can download and install the initial distribution of Android CAL via EGateway Service.

9. Click on HOME button in the device and view the following pop up is displayed.
10. Select MICROS CAL icon and click on ‘Always’ option.

11. CAL icon will be displayed in CAL Launcher screen after successful installation.

Configure CAL Client in the device


1. Click on ‘Configure CAL’ button.

2. Select the EMC server from the ‘Available Servers’ list.

3. Click on ‘Next>>’.
4. Select the Property from the ‘Available Properties’ list.
5. Click on ‘Next>>’.
6. Select the workstation from the ‘Available Workstations’ list.

7. Click on ‘Save’ button.

8. Scheduled packages will be downloaded once the CAL is configured.

Access MICROS CAL Admin Options in CAL Non-Configured mode


1. Tap 5 times on the device screen.

2. ‘Access Dialog’ screen will be displayed.


3. Enter correct Access Code and click on ‘Next>>’ button.

4. View MICROS CAL Admin Options screen is displayed.

Access MICROS CAL Admin Options in CAL Configured mode


1. Navigate to below location in EMC.
Role| Operations| Miscellaneous| Miscellaneous Options
2. Configure a Role in EMC server by checking the following option bit.
 10064 - Can Access CAL Admin Applications.

3. Select an employee and assigned the role which has the ‘10064’ option bit ON.

4. In the device, swipe vertically from top to bottom.

5. MICROS CAL Admin Login will get displayed.


6. User is now able to login to CAL Admin Options by entering employee Username and password.
E.g. Username = micros, password = micros
