Operations Good (Sharan) : I need to work on the estimates for the productivity and idle time

of the assembly line. I will use linear regression and long short term memory network to predict
these parameters. The estimates for the procurement of new machines will also help in
successful completion of the manufacturing process.

Operations Good (Sharan) : We can apply two models to our assembly line, namely kaizen
and Kanban. Using linear regression and long short term memory network for prediction, I have
calculated that kaizen will increase productivity by 10%, whereas Kanban can only increase it
up to 4%. Also, the idle time can be reduced to a greater extent by introducing kaizen which is
not the case with kanban. The numbers are 15s and 5s for kaizen and kanban respectively.
Therefore I would like to go ahead with kaizen for our new product. We need two extra lathe
machines and five milling machines for the completion of the manufacturing process. Apart from
this the estimated number of workers will be close to 200 per 8 hour shift.
