MANAGEMENT OF PURPOSE OF PENTAVALENT IMMUNIZATION

IN POLINDES

ABSTRACT

Reddish swelling after pentavalent immunizationis a local reaction that

occurs in infants after pentavalent immunization. Reddish swelling after
pentavalent immunization is caused by injection reactions. Based on the results
of a preliminary study of the last three months (July, August, September 2019),
4 out of 20 infants (20%) who were immunized had reddish swelling. The
purpose of the study was to analyze midwifery management of reddening
swelling in infants after pentavalent immunization
at the Siti Komariyah Polindes, Amd. Keb Village Kelampis District.
Bangkalan.
The research method is a case study approach. Conducted by Polindes Siti
Komariyah, Amd. Keb Kelis Bangkalan in December 2019, with 2 participants
who experienced reddish swelling. Data collection using interviews, observation
and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation from
families and health workers with analysis using content analysis.
The results of the study received complaints Participant 1 babies
experienced reddish swelling and felt a small lump in the afternoon after getting
injections of pentavalent 1 immunization in the morning, while participant 2
babies experienced reddish swelling at night after giving pentavalent 1
immunization in the morning. A potential problem for both participants was
abscess. The action interventions for participants 1 and 2 are the same: Observe
the general condition of the baby and the baby's vital signs, encourage the
mother to compress the injection file with warm water for 10-20 minutes, and
Giving HE about compresses encourages mothers to compress with warm water
at the injection site for 10-20 minutes. Participant issues were resolved at the
3rd visit.
It is hoped that midwives can provide care about the management of
reddish swelling after pentavalent immunization.
