The following HOLIDAYS will be observed in SOS Children’s Villages of India Projects and FDC (Fund Development &
Communications) Offices during the Calendar year – 2020:-
*Republic Day is not included because it falls on Sunday. However, Co-workers for whom Sunday is not the weekly off, will observe
Republic Day, 26 January, Sunday as a Holiday. In lieu of this, the co-workers are required to work on either Holi or Chaitra
Sukladi/Gudi Padava/Ugadi/ Cheti Chand that is on March 10, 2020 and March 25, 2020 respectively.
**Independence Day is not included because it falls on Saturday. However, Co-workers for whom Saturday is not the weekly off, will
observe Independence Day, 15 August, Saturday as a Holiday. In lieu of this, the co-workers are required to work on either Raksha
Bandhan or Janmashtami that is on August 03, 2020 and August 12, 2020 respectively.
RESTRICTED HOLIDAYS
In Addition to the above holidays, each co-worker is permitted to choose and avail THREE RESTRICTED HOLIDAYS out of the list given
below. However, the projects can add to the list any restricted holidays as per their local customs. In such case, they must intimate the
National Office. The approval for Restricted Holidays should be taken in advance from the Head of Department / Project.
In respect of Muslim Holidays, which are dependent on sighting of moon, notification issued by Government will be followed and there will be no
separate notification regarding such change by SOS Children’s Villages of India
***Restricted holiday can be taken for each child’s birthday within the overall limit of three restricted holidays .
