CanvessHR Announces Top Coach Industry Leader David Meltzer to Join Board of Advisors

There is exciting news this month at CanvessHR: David Meltzer will be joining our Board of
Adviors!
For those who need an introduction, David is the Co-Founder of Sports 1 Marketing, a
marketing agency that he co-founded with Pro Football Hall of Fame Quarterback, Warren
Moon ( yes, the same agency that was also the inspiration behind the infamous movie Jerry
Maguire). He is an executive producer, and the main judge of Entrepreneur’s Elevator Pitch.
David is famed for providing invaluable and constructive insight to thousands of businesses
each year, his aim is to share his years of business knowledge with the end goal of boosting
company growth. He is an industry veteran and leads through phenomenal business acumen
and inspiration. The business guru’s mantra is, “Make A Lot Of Money, Help A Lot of
People & Have A Lot of Fun!” – and who could argue with that? You can read about this
philosophy in more in detail in his three best-selling books. What sets David apart from other
heavy weight aficionados in this line of work is his philanthropic spirit which has gained him
a recognition as one of Marshall Goldsmith’s Top 100 Business Coaches in the World.
So, you’re probably wondering how I managed to convince him to join our Board of
Advisors? I first came across David Meltzer during my regular every day following of other
people and events on social media. I was immediately drawn to his philosophy on life and
entrepreneurship and how he operated. But what truly struck me was all the value he was
adding to the many people he interacted with.
Through social media I found out that he had an Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch TV show that
immediately grabbed my attention. I reached out to David over Instagram to ask how I could
apply to pitch CavnessHR on the show. To my surprise, I received a reply from him within
minutes saying the show was on a hiatus because of COVID and how else he could be of
service. I knew right then that David was not your typical person and I should figure out how
to become involved with him. This was also a light-bulb moment for me, I decided that I
needed to convince him to come work with us as one of our Board Advisors. I knew that the
value he could add to the company would be immense and he would be best to lead us in
effectively scaling our organisation.
During this time I continued to follow and engage with him on social media and received
plenty of valuable advice in doing so. Through social media I learned about the monthly
competition he ran known as the “2 Minute Pitch”. This was where I spotted my window of
opportunity. I had two minutes to make a lasting impression if I wanted to later have a shot at
having this man heading up our advisory board at CanvessHR. I prepared as much as I could
and must have rehearsed the pitch 100 times, in the end all the hard work paid off.

As you know, I am also a City Leader for Bunker Labs Seattle. In this role, I help out with
the Seattle Veterans in Residence Cohort. As part of this, I facilitate weekly huddles and
bring in speakers to help mentor them. I reached out to David and invited him to speak as a
guest at one of our weekly huddles. Much to our delight, David kindly rearranged his
schedule to make this happen. After this I continued to engage with David on Social Media
and attend his weekly Facebook coaching group. At this point we had built up a solid
relationship and I felt confident it was the right time to put forward the idea of him joining
the Advisory Board. Although I was confident in the decision, and believed David now knew

enough about what we are building at CavnessHR to ask him to join the CavnessHR Board of
Advisors, with someone as influential and productive as David it was still difficult to gauge a
response.
However, he quickly said yes. We are looking forward to David’s input to CavnessHR as a
member of our Board of Advisors. In this new role, David Meltzer will advise CavnessHR on
strategy, operations, developing and exploring new business verticals and expanding the
CavnessHR network.
