Experience  Esperanza HS / Band President

June, 2018 - June, 2019, Anaheim, CA
Because I have just completed my freshman year of college, my
experience is largely limited to my high school volunteer work. That said,
I was part of my school’s band & color guard student council my junior
and senior year. Being VP and subsequently, President, cemented my
love for music education and gave me the chance to lead and peer tutor
musicians of all instruments, aged 13-18.

Esperanza HS / Section Leader

June, 2017 - June, 2019, Anaheim, CA
During my high school years, I played flute in our wind ensemble,
symphonic, and advanced ensembles. For my two upperclassmen years, I
was the flute section leader and principal chair, which gave me two years
of experience as a peer tutor.

Esperanza HS / Drum Major

June, 2017 - June, 2019, Anaheim, CA
My last volunteer position during high school was our field drum major.
This position gave me conducting and leadership experience, as well as
time management skills that I feel are essential in any chair position.

Education  Esperanza High School / HS Diploma

September, 2015 - June, 2019
My time in high school, although not indicative of paid job experience or
internship, was filled with hundreds of hours of volunteer work as a peer tutor in
the instrumental music department. I was given the outstanding musicianship
award four years in a row, as well as a senior award from the arts department,
and a small scholarship for two more musicianship awards I received as a senior.
My time in high school is equal to any paid job or internship I could have held at
that time, and was my priority as it was my community.

Berklee College of Music / (tentative) B.A. Music Education,

Performance
September, 2019 - May, 2023 (tentatively)
The experience I’ve had thus far in the Music Education department has
provided several volunteer opportunities already. I have volunteered at
the Majors/Minors fair, completed 14 observation hours in K-8
classrooms, am a part of the Berklee NAfME chapter, and attended the
MMEA Conference this past March.
