A Compact Monopole CPW-Fed Dual Band Notched Square- ring Antenna for
UWB Applications
The antenna is called square ring due to square ring look and a
WLAN and WiMax band is notched from UWB by etching
two symmetrical slots in the ground plane nearby the feed line
and rectangular split ring slot in the square-ring radiating
patch. The antenna design software package, called Ansoft
HFSS 13.0 has been used to develop and simulate this
antenna.
III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The designed antenna is simulated and result show that the
voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of antenna is less than
two (VSWR<2) from frequency range of 3.1 to 10.6 GHz and
greater than two (VSWR>2) in 4.8-6.2 GHz and 3.2-
3.6GHz.The simulated and measured VSWR of antenna with

A good agreement in simulation can be observed. It is found in the ground plane and in notched band 4.8to 6.2 GHz for

The simulated radiation patterns with Ansoft HFSS13 at
frequencies 3.2GHz, 5.5GHz, 10GHz, are shown in fig.6. The
