1. The nature of young children as human beings, in my belief, is that not all

children learn the same, even those who are considered special needs. I believe

that young children are curious about the world and have many things to learn.

Adults should not make the young children feel as if they can not understand

what they are curious about. The early years are the most important years of

their lives. The children should be able to trust you and feel comfortable around

you. They should also feel safe in asking you questions or by just simply letting

them talk and you hearing them. I believe that during their early years is their

crucial part of their development. The younger children learn better through play,

and they all learn by watching others and they also learn through sensory.

2. The purpose of education should not be based off tests. I think that it should also

not be only of what they should know or learn educationally. It should be based

on what they can accomplish, how much they can, and how much they have

accomplished. The purpose of education should also include the way the student

values himself/herself. Along with lessons, they should also teach the students

morals. If the child does not value himself/herself they will not take into

consideration any other lesson being taught as they get older, whether math,

science, reading, or writing.

3. The teachers role, in my view, is to understand the differences in families. The

teacher should be able to let the families know what is going on in the classroom.
The teacher should also greet parents and students daily. A teacher should have

expectations on each student and their learning. The teacher should learn what

the students are interested in and how they can learn better. If a student is not

able to grasp a concept one way, the teacher should be able to find a different

way to better help the student. A teacher should be there for the students by

answering questions or by demonstrating. He/She should also consider ideas

coming from the students and value the students. The teacher should not make

the students feel like they are not capable of anything.

4. What I should know, in the role of the teacher, is how to be able to better myself.

I should be able to know all of my student and know how they best learn

individually, or as a whole group. I should know how not to differentiate a student

and how make this student feel like they can accomplish anything. I should also

know how to be able to make a student feel welcomed and comfortable walking

into my classroom and approaching me. I should know not only how to teach a

child to read or write or do math, but also teach them to enjoy those subjects. I

should also be able to know how to teach a child to think better of themselves.
