Suzuki XL7 has been officially launched in Indonesia and provides new choices for the public on low

SUV vehicles. From the name, it is similar to the Escudo XL7 model that existed in 2003. However,
PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) as the agent holder of the Suzuki brand in Indonesia said that the
latest XL7 is not a derivative of the Escudo XL7 model. But even so, Suzuki only took the 'spirit'
Escudo XL7 as a pioneer of the 7 passenger SUV.

The emergence of XL7 in 2020 is at the same time referred to as the 50th anniversary of Suzuki in
the country. The process of making the Suzuki XL7 was allegedly following the trend of consumer
tastes that gradually changed from low MPV to low SUV. This is also reflected in the Suzuki XL7
chassis design that uses HEARTECT, aka the same as that used by All New Ertiga, Ignis, and
Baleno.

Suzuki equipped the XL7 with a capacity of 1,462 cc (1.5 L) K15B engine with a power output of
102.7 hp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 138 Nm at 4,000 rpm.  From the specifications
listed, the Suzuki XL7 engine used is indeed the same as Ertiga and Carry. However, the Suzuki
claims that there are differences in engine setup and several other components.

In India, there is also a twin of the Suzuki XL7, the XL6. The most striking difference is the amount of
passenger capacity. If in XL6, only 6 passengers because of the use of the captain seat in the
second row.
