EFFECTIVENESS OF TOMATO (Solanum lycopersicum) AND MOLASSES

AS AN ALTERNATIVE FERTILIZER IN GROWINGPECHAY PLANT
(Brassica napus L.)

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to know that tomato and

molasses as an alternative fertilizer for pechay plant can
be effective, the study is limited to the potency of the
chemical compounds found in the tomato and molasses. The
procedure, the making of the fertilizer commenced after sun-
drying of tomatoes then mixed with molasses, it was then
fertile on the soil for a week the next week the pechay seed
were planted. Data will then be gathering every 10 days.
Tomato and molasses are the group of experimental while the
organic fertilizer is the control group. Findings revealed
that upon a number, the rate of the experimental and control
was almost the same. In stem length the p-value (0.06) is
greater than the set alpha (α=0.05). In leaf width the p-
value (0.08) is still greater than the set alpha (α=0.05).
Therefore, accepting the null hypothesis. There is no
significant difference between the mean stem length and leaf
width of the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and molasses
fertilizer and commercial organic fertilizer in growing
Pechay (Brassica napus L.). But upon t-test statistical
analysis, there is no significant difference between the
mean stem length and leaf width of the tomato and molasses
fertilizer and commercial organic fertilizer, disregarding
significant difference, the tomato and molasses having equal
chemical compound as the organic fertilizer, Therefore, it
can be concluded that tomato and molasses can be used as an
alternative active ingredient in producing an alternative
organic fertilizer
