SECOND ASSIGNMENT.

To both sections CE 2102 and CE 2103 :

1. Each one is required to submit a “technical report”, focusing on his/her group topic
I. Structural Engineering
II. Transportation Engineering
III. Geotechnical Engineering
IV. Water Resources Engineering
V. Environmental Engineering
VI. Construction Management Engineering
2. Use the essence of the “first assignment” to accomplish this report.
3. Read the rubrics, the “Rubrics For Engineering Students’ Written Report”. The criteria contain
specifics. (A sample filled-out rubrics is given.)
4. Reminder : The topic serves as a general guide. Choose a title to narrow down and make the
report easier to compose. The chosen title will individualize the report, thus there should be no
copying from anyone’s work. Provide one or up to 3 objectives to make the report more doable.
5. Some details :
a) long-sized bond papers;
b) don’t bind, no fastener, staple-wire only;
c) text is computerized or encoded, portrait mode, no border or margin lines;
d) font for regular text is Times New Roman (font size 12pt), font for caption text is Calibri
(font size 10pt) ;
e) left margin is 2.0 cm, right margin 2.0 cm, top margin 2.54 cm, bottom 2.54 cm;
f) with paging on bottom right corner of the footer;
g) number of sheets is from 8 to 12 pages, don’t use the flipside;
h) paragraph format is free style but be consistent; and
i) line spacing for regular text is “at least 18pt”, line spacing for caption text is “single”.
6. Use a cover sheet with the “usual” entry lines. This is pageless.
7. Folders are disallowed; instead use a long-sized expanded envelop to house the members’
output. Thus, each section would submit 6 envelops only.
8. Due : September 12, 2019, Thursday, at class time.
9. Required also to submit the softcopy, up to Sept. 13, through the email. Use properly the
“email’s “Subject line”.
10. Any clarification should be sent via email by the group.
