8. The Abacan bridge had collapsed few days ago after the eruption.
9. He saw four barkers holding wooden chairs with chairs inviting people to cross the river. One
barker felt himself to be a hint that he wanted to ride, so he was silent and chose to go because he
wanted to see his family. He sat on the chair, and the barker tied up an improvised seatbelt. The
author felt that he would slide down, and the barker changed the weight on the head, as the
barker started lifting the chair. He closed his eyes in the middle of the river because he was
afraid the barker might not cross it. He paid the barker 20 pesos after crossing and thanked the
barker.
10. He felt guilty because by carrying the poet, the queen, all of his 160-pound royalty for a
measly 15 pesos, he would expose the cadaver-looking barker to such pain and suffering.
11. In my view, the author's mother was a determined kind of mother, strong, caring, and brave.
Since she realized the Abacan bridge was crumbling, she's still going to Dau. She'd only been to
Dau twice. Besides, she is not afraid and the author was there to accompany her. The ending
suggests how amazing the mother of the author was. The last part also indicates that family
during a calamity or tragedy is important.
12. Hardships and struggles are a part of it in a Filipino day of life. Filipinos are known to be
powerful, hospitable, and from anything, they never go back. They conquer adversities with a
smile and not forget to have fun every time. The heavy rains and storms that flood all of the
Philippines, for instance. Filipinos often still smile and continuing their daily lives despite the
situation they find themselves in.
13. Based on my observation, I would conclude the storytelling style of first-person narration is
irrefutably successful because readers can easily imagine what an author is experiencing. I can
tell the author's use of the methods is good because I felt pleasure and excitement while reading
the article. I can also recall several things about the letter.
I think the best response That I will make to protect myself and others during that
situation is to leave the area straight away. We should prepare ourselves because an eruption is
imminent. Also, a disposable particulate respirator may use to protect yourself while you're
outside or while you're cleaning up indoor ash.
