There are lots of volunteering opportunities out there. Look for things that appeal
to you, things you have done before, things you are good at or things you’d like to
try. It could even be the start of a new career path for you.
Local businesses are an important part of local communities that are always
under pressure from bigger national and multi-national competitors.
The best ways to support local businesses is to spend money with them, but
there are other ways to help:
● Tell your friends and family about your favourite local businesses.
● Follow and support local businesses on social media.
● Leave positive reviews.
3. Donate things
Helping the community doesn’t have to mean donating time or money, charities
can benefit from your unwanted possessions.
4.Donate money
Helping the community is good for you and good for those around you.
Whether you spend time on a community project, donate unwanted
clothing or just tidy up, giving something back can help you too.
What can schools do to keep students safe?
School safety is important to protect all students and school personnel from
violence that includes:
● Assaults
● Bullying
● Victimization
● Theft
● Classroom disorder
● Fights
● Robbery
● Use of weapons
● Sexual attacks
● Violent crime
Community is a part of the society and education is the counterpart of both. School is the
social institute where consciously designed learning experiences are provided with the
objectives of achieving social aim at large, over a period of time.
School is also defined as a subsystem of the larger system of the society. It has to
functionally coordinate with its immediate environment, the community in which it is
situated.
● Make sure students interact safely. Monitor bullying “hot spots” in and
around the building. Students may be at higher risk of bullying in settings
where there is little or no adult monitoring or supervision, such as
bathrooms, playgrounds, and the cafeteria.
Enlist the help of all school staff. All staff can keep an eye out for bullying.
They also help set the tone at school. Teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff,
office staff, librarians, school nurses, and others see and influence
students every day. Messages reach kids best when they come from many
different adults who talk about and show respect and inclusion.
