B.Sizing of Gravity Tank:
Requirement I :

As per Clause No. 7.4.1.4.6 of TAC Fire Protection manual -"Where transformer are protected
by high velocity water spray system tapped from hydrant system, water requirement of the
spray system worked out as above shall then be loaded by 1750 LPM (105 Cum/Hr) for
supplementry hose stream protection. If the total water requirement for spray protection and
hose stream protection worked out as above exceeds the requirements of the hydrant service
as per Table 2, the pumping capacity shall be equivalent to the former."
The total water requirement shall be as per TAC clause
Water requirement of the spray system (Larget deluge valve) : 345.75 m3/hr
As per TAC Supplementry hose stream protection : 105 m3/hr
Total water requirement for the fire fighting system : 450.75 m3/hr

As per TAC the capacity of static storage /Gravity tank for light hazard occupancies shall not
be less than the aggregate pumping capacity.
Size of Gravity Tank : 450.75 m3
As per NFPA 851 Cl.6.2.2 for 2 hours 901.507393592
