If n is odd (1, 3): the plot is symmetric about the y-axis (x = 0)

If n is even (2,4): the plot is symmetric about the line y = -x or the line
y=x

Number of petals in the polar plot = n (n = 1 corresponds to one petal,

..., n = 4 corresponds to 4 petals.
If n is odd (1, 3): the plot is symmetric about the y-axis (x = 0)
If n is even (2,4): the plot is symmetric about the line y = -x or the line
y=x

12. Graph the equation 4 = 1−n sin θ, for n = 2, 3, 4. What is the relationship
between the value of n and the shape of the graph?

The shape of the graph remains same in all cases. Depending on the value
of n, the bigger (or outer) petal intersects the y-axis at -(n+1) and the
smaller (or inner) petal intersects the y-axis at -(n-1).
13. Graph the equation r = 1−cos θ. Describe its relationship to r = 1−sin θ.

in diameter and has an inner hole with a diameter of 3/8 inch.
