NARRATIVE REPORT

During the exhibit of the different courses of CANR, some exhibits are related to our
subject Soil Science. We have seen some of the fundamental concepts about soil. The
importance and functions of soil and the major components of soil which are the organic
matter, mineral matter, soil air and gases, soil water, and the soil organisms.
Some rocks and minerals were displayed but are not named and it became hard for us
to identify it. Also the soil formation and development was shown. The rock cycle, the stages in
the formation of sedimentary soil, the transported soil, the Pedon, and soil profile was
exhibited there. The three soil properties, physical, chemical and biological properties was
posted there. There are also different types of soil from different places hanged in bottles. The
different types of soil with different soil structures, soil color and dry-soil consistency was
displayed in rectangular glass container. There is also soil samples used for soil testing
contained in test tubes.
The facts about vermicomposting was shown there. One thing that caught my attention
is this product called the ‘BIO-FIX’. It is a compost enhancer that helps for faster composting. I
believe this product is very useful especially to those who wants to practice composting for
their plants.
The whole exhibit of CANR is very educational. It helps us discover the different things
that each courses is studying of. Though the exhibit is not interactional we still learned
something by the information written and shown in the tarpaulins.
