25. Summary: A tourist's paradise
Uttaranchal has come leaps and bounds as a tourist
destination. Several national and international awards have put
the state under the spotlight. With both the central and state
government taking serious initiatives to develop the state for
year-round tourism, Uttaranchal has something to offer to
everybody. From National parks to silent valleys, adventure
sports to religious destinations, Village fairs to melas all
capturing the local spirit, it is growing at a frenzied pace as a
world-class tourist spot. Infrastructure development and
upgradation to meet international standards, strategic projects to
generate local employment have all reduced migration of the
local village population.
All the best 2 all.

Tourism in Uttaranchal
Uttaranchal has a diverse variety of tourist destinations-spiritual,
adventurous and scenic. The State government initivative in
developing the existing and new places of tourist interest has
brought accolades to the state. Self employment schemes and
new projects used to generate employment are the reason for
recognition at the Centre. The core idea is to depict the state as
a perinnial tourist attraction. Infrastructure development,
preservation of historical heritage sites and the village tourism
concept has seen an increase in the number of tourists which
minimises the rural exodus.
