1 About this timetable 3 Centre arrangements

This timetable of all EGCSE and Cambridge IGCSE examinations available
Centres are responsible for letting candidates know when their
through ECESWA contains:
examinations will start, and for telling them about any changes to the

Centre arrangements must fully comply with all Regulations including

2 About the sessions and start time, and the Cambridge

… IGCSE KEY TIME
Examinations must be taken in the morning or afternoon timetable session
as shown on the FINAL timetable and the start time shown for each paper
must be adhered to by all centres.
For Cambridge IGCSE papers candidates entered for examinations in a
session must be under Full Centre Supervision at the KEY TIME. Where the
examination is completed before the KEY TIME, Centres must keep
candidates under Full Centre Supervision until the KEY TIME.
The KEY TIME for the morning session is 11.00 am local time.
The KEY TIME for the afternoon session is 3.00 pm local time.
What does “under Full Centre Supervision” mean?
Candidates can be in the examination room, doing their examination,
under the supervision of invigilators.
Or, if the KEY TIME is before the start of the examination, they must be
supervised by teachers or invigilators from the KEY TIME until the start of
the examination. They can have access to their books and notes, and they
can talk to each. However, they must not have any access to telephones,
mobile phones, the internet, or any means of external communication; and
they must not be allowed communication with anyone not under Full
Centre Supervision.
Or, if they have finished their examination, they may be permitted to leave
the examination room provided that they are supervised by invigilators
continuously from the time they leave until the KEY TIME. Once outside
the exam room, they can have access to their books and notes, and they
can talk to each other (provided that they do not cause any disturbance to
candidates who are still doing an examination). However, they must not
have any access to telephones, mobile phones, the internet, or any means
of external communication; and they must not be allowed any contact with
anyone not under Full Centre Supervision.
4 Where there is more than one paper in a single session
Specific start times have been given to each paper in the session where
this happens. Centres must start the papers for all candidates at the
time and in the order shown.
If a candidate is entered for both papers, they have been allowed a
short break between the two papers of half an hour. The Regulations
regarding the KEY TIME for Cambridge IGCSE papers must be followed
and the candidate must be under Full Centre Supervision during this
break.
5 Time Allowance for Question Papers
Any time specially allocated for candidates to read through question
papers and to study maps, etc., is already included in the total time
allowance shown in the timetable. You must not allow any additional
time.
6 Practical Tests in Biology, Fashion and Fabrics, Food and
Nutrition, and Physical Science
All practical papers must be taken in the sessions shown on the FINAL
timetable.
If there are more candidates than there is space for in one sitting, the
examiner/invigilator may hold the test in two sittings, as long as satisfactory
arrangements are made.to ensure the integrity of the examination.
Arrangements must be made to ensure that there is no communication by
any means between candidates who have taken the test in the first sitting
and those who are scheduled to take it in the second sitting, either at the
Centre or at any other Centre.

Failure by a Centre to comply with the Regulations regarding the KEY TIME
for Cambridge IGCSE papers will be considered Centre Malpractice by
Cambridge International and may result in Cambridge International being
unable to accept candidates’ work.

Centres must report to ECESWA any incidents or irregularities amongst

candidates under Full Centre Supervision, including any access to
unauthorised means of communication. Such instances will be treated as
Malpractice.
