first ivf appointment

Most clinics will give you an overview at the very


beginning so some of these may be answered during
that. Remember to take a notebook and take notes if
you need to.

1. What is your treatment approach and timeline for my specific case?


2. How often will staff contact me with updates or information?
3. Who do I contact if I have further questions?
4. Do you have evening or weekend appointments available?
5. What is the average number of eggs harvested for those in similar
circumstances to us?
6. What are your fertilisation rates?
7. Do you do both Day-3 and Day-5 Transfers?
8. How do you make that decision?
9. What happens if i don't respond to the medications well?
10. When would you deem it a failed cycle and what happens then?
11. What are the main risks with the treatment?
12. Is there anything i can do to improve my chances of success?
13. Do you offer counselling or support if we feel we need it?
14. Do you have any previous patients/peer to peer groups we could
contact?
15. Are there any non-medical treatments you'd recommend (i.e.
acupuncture, yoga etc)?
16. What can i expect from the medications?
17. Can I have the results of all the tests? (write down all the results)
