About Us

We entered the world of business as distributors of Law Books and Law Reports. We
made our debut in Law Publications by publishing THE WEST BENGAL LAWS, which was an
authentic and complete collection of Bengal/West Bengal Statutes-1865 to date.
Later on we took our first steps towards the publication of Bengal’s most reputed
Law Journal, the CALCUTTA HIGH COURT NOTES (CHN). Thereafter, we came up with the
EASTERN CRIMINAL NOTES (ECrN), which gives comprehensive information on the latest
developments in criminal law.

We reprint several UK, American and Indian law books which are as indispensable as
they are rare.

We have, since 2011, undertaken the unprecedented task and immense responsibility
of publishing an International Law Journal, the COMMON LAW CASES (Com LC), which is
the ONLY Law Journal of its kind in the commonwealth countries and which brings
together reports of the Hon’ble Supreme Courts of AUSTRALIA, BANGLADESH, CANADA,
INDIA, MALAYSIA, NEW ZEALAND PAKISTAN, SOUTH AFRICA, SRI LANKA and UNITED KINGDOM
(UK) under one roof.

Law isn’t static. It is famously referred to as an ever changing and evolving

field of study. From the Code of Hammurabi to the Magna Carta and from the Magna
Carta to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and beyond, law has evolved
along with human civilization. Technology is yet another aspect of human lives
which has kept pace with the changing times. We, at the Common Law House, felt the
need to embrace such advances in technology and make the legal information that we
have, available to more people from the legal field in a more cost effective and
hassle free manner. Keeping in view the above stated line of thought, we decided
that it was time enough for our publications to go virtual and be just a click of a
mouse away from you. Under such circumstances, we are happy to be launching an
ONLINE WEB VERSION of all our publications.
