1. What is the whole premise of the story, How My Brother Leon Brought Home a Wife?

The story is about Baldo and his older brother, Leon were waiting for the arrival of Maria at the
barrio, she was riding a carretela of Ca Celin that time. When Baldo saw Maria, he was mesmerized and
amazed by the beauty of her, as he narrates their journey to their home in Nagrebcan. But upon their
journey to Leon’s home, Leon is wondering why Baldo drove them to the waig instead of the camino real,
Baldo answered that he drove the waig because their father told him to do so. The waig route serves as
test to Maria if she can live in the province which differs a lot from the city where she lived in, but then it
seems like Maria likes Leon’s province, she discovered the differences of the life of the people lived there
and the life in the city. Then, Maria became worried that she won't be accepted by Leon's father. And
when they arrived home, Leon’s father talked to Baldo asking what happened during their travel, the
father asked Baldo if Maria was afraid in their place, Baldo answered that Maria was not afraid and
instead she enjoyed the journey by looking at the star and singing “Sky Sown with Stars” with Leon.

2. Can you describe Maria?

Maria is a very beautiful lady, supportive and loving wife of Leon. She is a typical city girl who was born
and grew up in a big city. However, despite having no knowledge on how to deal with a life in province
and far from the city, Maria survived the test if she can live in province which differs a lot from the city
where she lived in. At first she was very nervous to meet Leon’s father, thinking that he may not like her.
But at the end, she enjoyed the life in province with the help of Leon.
 
3. Can you describe Leon?
Leon (or Noel) is the older brother of Baldo who brought home a wife. He is responsible, gentle, and
loving husband of Maria. Along their journey, he look at the stars with Maira, taught Maria to sing the
”Sky Sown with Stars” song, and comforted Maria as she worried that Leon’s father may not like her.
4. Can you describe Baldo?
Baldo is the one who narrated the story and brother of Leon. He’s very obedient and innocent. And, he
was mesmerized and amazed by the beauty of Maria, as he narrates their journey to their home in
Nagrebcan.
5. Baldo, the brother of Leon, was the one who picked the couple up so they could go home. But
Baldo decided to go through the Waig Route, instead of Camino Real which was by far the
easiest path to their house. Why did Baldo do this?
Based on the story, Baldo told Leon it was their father’s order. But the truth was, the waig route serves as
