Kanpur)

(a) Study of field pattern of various modes inside a rectangular waveguide.

(b) Study of field pattern of various modes inside a rectangular waveguide cavity.
(c) Introduction to Smith chart and its applications for the unknown impedance
measurements.
(d) Study the behaviour of impedance matching for passive network using Smith
chart.

2. Study of the characteristics of Klystron Tube and to determine its electronic tuning
range.
3. To determine the frequency & wavelength in a rectangular waveguide working on
TE10 mode.
4. To determine the Standing Wave-Ratio and Reflection Coefficient.
5. To measure an unknown Impedance with Smith chart.
6. Study of V-I characteristics of Gunn Diode.
7. Study of following characteristic of Gunn Diode:-
(a) Output power and frequency as a function of voltage.
(b) Square wave modulation through PIN diode.
8. To measure the polar pattern and the gain of a wave-guide horn Antenna.
9. Study of function of multi-hole directional coupler by measuring the following
parameters:-
(a) Main line and Auxiliary line SWR.
(b) Coupling factor and directivity.
10. Study of Magic Tee.
11. Study of Circulator/Isolator.
12. Study of Attenuator (Fixed and Variable type).
13. Phase shift measurement.
14. Measurement of Dielectric Constant.
15. Study of voice communication by using microwave test bench.
16. Study of square law behaviour of a microwave crystal detector.
17. Study of Resonant Cavity.
18. Study of PC to PC communication using microwave test bench.
