The document proposes an app to help address food insecurity during the COVID-19 lockdown. The app would allow users to geotag locations providing free meals and the correct times. It would also use Bluetooth to notify users near the locations to prevent close contact and help enforce social distancing. The app aims to better connect those in need with sources of free food while observing safety protocols during the pandemic.

With the government imposing a lockdown across the country to
overcome the spread of the virus several people including wage workers struggle to find means to earn food for themselves and their families.
Although, state governments, NGOs and some locals are organizing free meals and langars, this help is not completely reaching the poor.
To resolve this problem, I propose a geotagging
application to be used to tag places and correct time. To prevent close contact at the site, the app notifies concerned parties with a Bluetooth connection. The following figure shows a depiction of ignoring social distancing during Covid-19 pandemic according to a research at the university of Texas Austin.
