1. Read the text. Can you identify all the different past tenses used?

 Past continuous:

- He wondered if his mother would guess the plans
- He wanted to make sure that she would always remember this special occasion

2. Describe the big picture.

 The employees had not defined the strategies for the business. They had been working on
it for a long time but they never get a common point, differences always destroy the deal.
They had not prepared the presentation that explain the company, because Ana and
Mauricio had been fighting and threatening each other, and they don’t contribute so, the
others workers are very disappointed. Esteban and Juana had waited a lot for this moment
and they had made a plan to keep the group stable. Esteban had said “we are a group, we
have to work together for this, so, let’s calm down a try to solve this problem.”

3. Make sentences.
 Maria had been waiting for the bus, but it seems that it will never arrive, she must go to
another bus top.
 It had rained this afternoon, with a lot of thunders and lightnings. I had closed the
windows and the door.
 The tennis player had been training for the rematch with his main rival, I hope that he will
win.
 She had been chatting with her boyfriend in the streets, that’s very dangerous because a
