General information
As indicated by the World Health Organization, Bangladesh has 308,925 claimed illnesses to
date and 4,206 people have kicked the bucket of Covid.
On March 26, the administration originally filed a multi-day shutdown until April 4. On April 1,
the legislature reported that the shutdown would last until April 11. On April 5, 2020, the
administration again extended the continuous 'general occasion' for three more days, until April
14. On April 10, the legislature again extended the phase-out of all open and private workplaces
until April 25 to contain the spread of Covid across the nation. In accordance with this, on April
11 it was announced that all open vehicle administrations will be suspended until April 25.
Clinics, kitchen markets, drug stores and other fundamental administrations, in any case, will
remain open.
The administration has been requesting time and again that people stay home in an effort to
contain the spread of the infection. However, not long after the March 24 declaration, people
began to leave the capital for their homes in the city in large numbers. Some neighborhood
news sources revealed that many city occupants boarded transports and are preparing to return
home, fueling fears of a further spread of the infection across the country.
On April 1, the legislature abandoned all open bills stamping Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New
Year, to steer clear of mass social affairs as a component of its efforts to contain the spread of
the novel Covid. The Bengali New Year 1427 will begin on April 14.
The situation with RMG sector’s production
Many workers returned to the capital assuming they would profit from work on April 5,
only to discover that this conclusion would last until April 12. On April 7, Trade Minister
Tipu Munshi asked production line owners to pay their March period wages to their
workers before April 16. He added: `` You (i.e. the owners) cannot terminate the work of
any workers despite the fact that factories remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic
in the nation. '' Garment workers deployed to 11 factories in Savar on April 12
demanding the previous month's wages, some of whom had not received the previous
month's wages, which must be paid by the tenth of the month.
