On February 4, 1954, when he was 7 years old, he had to go live with his grandmother and
aunt to study at a British-style boarding school for boys.
On August 23, 1969, he had his first public performance as a singer in Bolton with the
band smille.
In 1970 he met Mary Austin at university and they established a 6-year relationship which
implied marriage but they never married, although they were no longer engaged, Mercury
considered her the love of his life, he even dedicated a song to her.
Also in this same year he joined the band smille and they changed their name to queen
in 1974 he had an interview with NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS magazine where he claimed he
was gay
In 1983 he decided to separate from the queen band due to problems with another
member
In 1985 he joined Queen again in a concert at Wenbley Stadium that brought them closer
than ever.
