Read the BBC article titled Richer, healthier but not happier

Based on the trends described (birth rates, wealth, obesity, among others), identify the results of
some facts.

Example:

In 1973, people in the UK had less money, but they were happy. On the other hand, in 2008,
people’s income increased, but they weren’t very satisfied.

Prepare your ideas for the next class and be ready to share your work and your opinions.
 Between 2005 and 2006, child poverty remained at (22%) compared to 1990 and 1991,
which was 27%.

 In the UK, the population has grown significantly from 56 million in 1986 to 60 million in
2006. On the other hand, 90% of the population is still white, compared to 93% in 2001.

 The largest ethnic minority group is Asians, with 5% of the population, while blacks make
up 3% of the population.

 the proportion of people in England classified as obese increased from 14% in 1994 to 24%
in 2006 for men and from 17% to 24% for women.

 the proportion of male smokers fell from 50% in 1974 to 25% in 2006 and from 40% to
20% among women.
