4} As we were strolling around the sreets of Gombak, the signboard of OLD TOWN WHITE COFFEE
caught my mum’s attention. She then began recounting her experience visiting the café in a different
branch. Her elaboration on the food she ate made our mouth water. Thus, without hesistation, the
decision was made.We all agreed on dining in this café to try out the array of delicacies served in the
café.The moment we set our foot into the café,we were fascinated by the myriad aroma of savoury and
sweet that filled the café.Upon our arrival,we were warmly greeted by a male waiter in his mid-20s.He
patiently replied to all our doubts on the dishes as we mentioned to him that we weren’t frequent
customers of this eatery.I decided to go with their signature dish, nasi lemak. My mum decided to try the
prawn mee whereas my dad and brothers orded fried rice, laksa and chicken rice respectively. We all
ordered their signature white coffee,as the waiter assured us that we wouldn’t regret this choice. On
top of that,we had French fries as appetizers .Within 20 minutes, all our food arrived.Despite, their swift
service, the waiter was still apologetic to us as he assumed that we waited too long.My mum assured
him that we weren’t waiting too long and we understood that good food would take some time to to be
prepared as it needs to be done carefully and cautiously to bring the best flavours out of them. The
presentation of the food was very well done, leaving an everlasting impression of the dish that was
served.Besides, the aroma of the food made my stomach growl. Finally,I had my first bite of my palatable
nasi lemak. The nasi lemak rice was cooked with care boasting its aromatic fragrance of the harmony of
coconut milk and pandan leaves. The sambal that which was the integral part of the dish wasn’t too
piquant and it was compatible with the rice. The the crispy anchovies and peanuts were to die for.The
slices of cucumber that were arranged neatly gave a refreshing taste every time I bite into it.Alas, the
perfectly boiled egg that topped of the dish signifies the fact that this was one of the best nasi lemak
that I have had.All the components were equally cared for and wasn’t neglected, which brought the best
flavours one can demand for. Moreover, their white coffee was delectable. One apparent difference that
make this coffee much better compared to other espresso would be the unique roasting method, that
results in an amazing after taste. My other family members also had a whale of time relishing their
food. When we were given the receipt,I was a little astonished by the prices of the dish.Despite, this we
were more than glad to bear the cost as we enjoyed every bite of our food. We thanked the waiter and
told him that we had a wonderful time dining in the restaurant.Overall, the ambience of the café is more
of a vintage style and I was satisfied with the surrounding. The café wasn’t dimly lit, instead it had a quite
good lighting making the café more lively.I also really enjoyed dining in the café as the cleanliness was
well maintained. To recapitulate,I would recommend this café to my friends and family as it is worth it
paying for.The have good facility, exceptional services and friendly waiters.I am definitely looking
forward for my next visit to this café.
