On 31st October 2019, a team of trainers from Snap Inc presented a fun workshop on

Augmented Reality technology for our students using their in house Lens Studio
software application.

Snap Inc. is a US based company popular for the Snapchat social media application
which utilizes Augmented Reality filters to enhance pictures and videos. Lens Studio is
a free software that invites artists, students, developers, animators, and more to
create augmented reality (AR) experiences and share them with the millions of people
who play with Lenses on Snapchat every single day! To date, creators have launched
over 400,000 Lenses with Lens Studio

The objectives of the workshop were to:

 Explore the possibilities of augmented reality (AR) and understand how they can
use this technology to impact the world around them 
 Build their very own AR Lenses centered around an academic topic or social
issue (national history, environmental awareness, etc.) that they can use and
share with friends and family 
 Discover how to refine their AR skills into valuable resume and career
opportunities 
The highlight of the workshop was when the students had the opportunity to experience
creating their own filters for Snapchat created using the Lens Studio software. Winners
were selected from each workshop sessions for the most creative filters. It was indeed a
useful and interesting session, which exposed students to Augmented Reality based
application and technology. Indeed, it was an eye opening experience for our students.
