Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):

☐ Remembering ☐ Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating X Creating

Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

X Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-driven.
Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning newscast,
posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) The app or online access will be used in order for students to
create. Using Adobe Spark lets students become creative by providing them a blank canvas to insert
exactly what they would like. This app is very easy to use and also provides tutorials for students if
they become confused.

Lesson idea implementation: Students will be given the standard communicating information about
the basic needs of plants and animals. I will provide the sample included and show them an
example of what their overall goal is. The students will be split into small group where they can
chose one focus (plants or animals) after doing so the students will be required to make a video
using sound, pictures, and facts all about plants or animals.
The students will have three days to complete this project that should be at least a minute long.
The first day will consist of a tutorial where we run through how the program works together along
with brainstorming for their video. After doing that the students will get creative with making a
video about their chosen topic.

Importance of technology: Using a multimedia tool is critical in this process and the assignment
could not be completed without it. Not having technology would result in a completely different
lesson due to it revolving around the video. There would not be another form of technology that
could substitute for their work through Adobe Spark.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Using the internet with students is always a risk but making sure
they are on school computers that are protected from the internet. This will make sure students
are not only on task but not going through inappropriate sites. The students do not have to add any
information besides their first name so they will not be exposed to people on the internet. We can
also create a password for them so it is not accessed by anyone it is not suppose to be.

Reflective Practice: I feel as if this lesson could impact students by giving them the freedom of
creation as well challenging them. Giving the students the opportunity to create on their own lets
them express how they feel about either plants or animals as well as teaches them. To further
extend the lesson they can go back later in the semester and make a video for the one they did not
do. Some other technology that could enhance this is a place to present their video from such as a
projector or smart board.
