Lesson Idea
☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.
☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.
☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.
they will be given a rubric with the requirements of this project. Some requirements include
describing why the animal is a mammal, describing the life cycle, and includes pictures to
model ideas. Student will utilize the technology by creating a story in PowerPoint. They must
include the page curl effect, pictures, and special elements. Feedback will be provided with
the rubric. I will conclude the lesson by having students showcase their own stories with the
whole class.

classroom behaviors on the technology:
Students will be able to complete this assignment with a partner. Co-use of the computer will
make the task not seem as daunting. Throughout the assignment there will be verbal check in
with the class. One way I will manage the technology is by having each pair complete a
storyboard before using the computer. They must plan what they are going to do to move to
the computer.
