INTRODUCTION
The distance education, it began more than three decades ago with the media (radio and
television), it has evolved to levels more personalized, critical, efficient and specialized
levels.
Today the virtual platforms offer more and better teaching resources, at the same time
advantage of information technologies such as: video tutorials, podcasting and social
media. Currently, a person can be trained in courses, graduate in a wide variety of online
careers, even obtain remote certifications, masters and doctorates.
This progress has generated limitations and obstacles, the pedagogues and specialists have
designed a series of techniques both to awaken the student's motivation "On-line" and to
develop comprehension and study skills, such as, for example, changing curricular designs,
mobile applications, simulators, etc.
To analyze the present and future trends of distance education, and the new challenges that
this entails, first we would analyze the aspects related to the central characters in the
educational system: The teacher and the student. The Technology has developed creative
spaces, for significant learning is the teacher or instructor who must train in educational
technologies ,so that they can adapt the content of their teachings to the environment of
applications in electronic devices and cyberspace. The teacher is learning to consider and
shape the workspaces, software tools, times and codes that the student will learn to manage.
At this time of the new millennium, our common language has incorporated new
terminology that has been driven by the use of modern electronic devices and especially
computer application software. Our young people today grow naturally using words from
the technological field and on social networks such as: "email", "wattsap", "upload to the
cloud", "follow", "download", "share", "bluetooth" , "post to facebook", "hashtag", etc.
Communication and information resources, most of which just a decade ago did not exist.
But since the appearance these novelties, our way of seeing the world and our sense of
using information has radically changed in hundreds of aspects. And they are here to stay.
Looking at this overview, then some questions arise: what can we expect in the future of
education for the next decades? What other technologies could further boost learning? Will
traditional classrooms ever disappear?
What components will the new educational software have? What level of preparation will a
teacher require to work with future teaching technologies?
To abord the issue of Tics trends in education, it is necessary to consider the analysis of
four central elements of the educational system: the instructor, the student, the educational
model and the resources of educational platforms. This will give us not only an overview of
the current state of virtual classrooms, but also where this vertiginous educational trend is
pointing.
THE STUDENT
As we know, in Distance Education models, students are motivated to promote self-
learning, respecting the learning rhythms of each one.
The Tics go according to the constructivist model, as they provide more adequate
environments for more complete learning than the classroom. As said Rodriguez F. (2009)
"Cognitive theorists such as Jean Piaget and David Ausubel, among others, proposed that
learning was the consequence of imbalances of students understanding and that the
environment was of fundamental importance in this process"
THE TEACHER
The first challenge that the teacher encounter is that of modifying the curriculum design.
The teacher should not only focus on developing the subjects inherent to the subject to be
taught, but also on adapting these to teaching strategies using computer resources. A
student who uses a virtual educational platform or any software to learn a topic, only sees
the interactive part with which he interacts. Behind these resources, there is all the
knowledge that is partly developed by programmers, but for the most part, is used by
teachers and instructors to define how to learn, what subject, and what type of resource.
THE EDUCATIONAL MODEL
How is the educational model in virtual classrooms?
It is important to distinguish that the advantages of using the Tics in universities and
institutions are many. They affect both the instructor and the student in ways such as the
following:
• They promote learning to read, by forcing students to read in order to be informed about
the different topics assigned in the activities.
• Develop writing skill.
• The use of ICT, through virtual classrooms, gives many people the opportunity to train
without the obstacle of time or distance.
• They are based on the certainty of a development of meta-cognitive processes.

• It encourages students to build their own learning, equivalent to personalized education.

• ICTs motivate and create interest in the activity. They allow students to know and use
multiple software tools that facilitate understanding and learning.
• They promote learning to read, by forcing students to read in order to be informed about
the different topics assigned in the activities.
• Develop writing skill.
• They are also based on cooperative learning, since it allows students to interact with peers
from other countries and cultures.
EDUCATIONAL PLATFORMS
Today we see that virtual universities have expanded thanks to the appearance of highly
versatile and creative platforms such as “ZOOM” “GOOGLEMEET” among others.
Zoom Video, also known as Zoom and Zoom App, is a virtual video call and meeting
program, accessible from desktops, laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
The Video conferencing applications are one of the most wanted of software, downloaded
and used in recent weeks. The objective is known: to cover the new needs of digital
communication in the new age of the confinement COVID-19 pandemic.
This are the most used platforms:
 Google Hangouts – Meet – Duo
 Jitsi
 FaceTime
 Cisco Webex
 Zoom
 Microsoft Skype – Skype Meet Now
 Tox
 FreeConference
 Viber
 Whatsapp y Line

CONCLUSION
As educational technology matures decade by decade, it is easy to conclude that we will
have experts from an early age who will attend to all scientific areas, supported by multiple
practices and case studies. For science, it will be decisive, therefore, that these young minds
prepared to learn more quickly and effectively, do so at an early age, since they will
develop projects or experimental bases much earlier - in physical terms - than scientists in
the past decades. In my view, we are in the social age of Information. And that the next
revolution will be that of science.
The new algorithms and the future computers will use AI (Artificial Intelligence) to
recreate better and more effective learning scenarios, tests and practices of data analysis
and prediction that would give the student more knowledge in a few hours, in contrast to
the days or weeks that could currently be taken.
The classes will be very productive and beneficial if we know how to make the most of it to
achieve a successful education.
