Book:

…education means the totality of experience gained by an individual from

birth to death. It is not the communication of information by the teacher. It is also

not just the acquisition of knowledge by the student. The fact is that it is the total

development of the personality. Here learning is through any agency such as home,

street, school, society, temple, play-ground, cinema etc. (Rather, 2004, p. 5)

It can be inferred, consequently, that education is the transformation process of

acquiring knowledge every single person goes through as the result of the experience and
learning application not only taught by others but also discovered from the individuality.

In order to build great leaders, Awuah (2007) said:

It's an incredible opportunity. There aren't very many more opportunities like this

in the world. I believe that Africa has reached an inflection point with a march of

democracy and free markets across the continent. We have reached a moment from which

can emerge a great society within one generation. It will depend on inspired

leadership. And it is my contention that the manner in which we train our leaders will make

all the difference. (16:50)

In order to understand the importance of the curriculum, let’s state clearly what the term
curriculum refers to:

The term curriculum refers to the lessons and academic content taught in a

school or in a specific course or program. In dictionaries, curriculum is often

defined as the courses offered by a school, but it is rarely used in such a general

sense in schools. (Great Schools Partnership, 2015, p. 1)
