STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR GUARDS IN NICON HOTELS

The aim of these standard operating procedures is to enable security operatives


deployed to the hotel discharge their duties professionally:

 Security operatives must ensure that the gates are locked with catch at all
times.
 Security operatives are to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining
access into the hotel premises.
 When gates are opened to admit vehicles, the gates must be closed
immediately.
 Security operatives should patrol round the hotel premises every
30minutes and record their patrol movement in the logbook.
 Security operatives must ensure that items belonging to the hotel are not
taken out of the premises without due authorization from hotel
management.
 Security operatives must not collect or sign for any mail or documents that
does not belong to NICON Hotel.
 Security operatives should ensure that no governmental agency is allowed
into the hotel premises without due authorization from hotel management.
 Security operatives should ensure that there is no loitering or wandering by
anybody within the hotel premises.
 Security operatives must search all cars interior and boot and use the under
search mirrors to screen under the cars when coming into the hotel
premises.
 The security supervisor must ensure that all cases of accidents, theft and
any other crime are reported promptly to his security manager and hotel
management.
 Security operatives are to remain alert at all times so as to respond quickly
to any emergency.
 Security operatives should show respect and courtesy to hotel guests and
customers by greeting and saluting them always.
 Security operatives should ensure that they carry out proper
Handing/Taking Over at the end of their shift and this should be
documented in their Handing/Taking Over Logbook.
 All Security operatives must attend Tuesday and Friday Muster Parade to be
conducted by the Security Supervisor.
