Dressmaking
I. Objective
A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding on the principles of designing and sewing of
sleeping garments.
B. Performance Standard
The learner plan, design and sew sleeping garments.
C. Learning Competencies
After several activities, the students are expected to do the following;
a. Identify the measurements needed in drafting basic/block pattern of the skirt;
b. Demonstrate the steps in drafting of drafting basic/block pattern of the skirt; and
c. Execute the steps in drafting of drafting basic/block pattern of the skirt.
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activity
1. Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Greetings
B. Motivation
Ask the students about the materials and tools will be needed in this laboratory.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
Let the students choose a partner in identifying their corresponding body measurements.
3. Abstraction
The teacher will demonstrate first the steps in drafting of pattern in pencil cut skirt.
4. Application
After the demonstration, the students will work on their own and must follow the steps in
drafting basic/block pattern of the skirt.
B. Demonstrate the steps in drafting basic/block pattern of the skirt. (Individual demonstration)
Scoring Rubrics
V. Assignment
Bring the materials and tools needed for tomorrow’s next laboratory which is the transferring of
pattern marking and symbols on the fabric.
Note: No materials and tools, no output.
