Yes! At least in Pacifica you'll get 60 degree winds with 80 Around the Bay

I grew up in the East Bay, and in all my years I cannot recall one Halloween where it rained on
Halloween night. Definitely a few where it rained earlier in the day, and even right up into the
afternoon. But it always seemed to stop by the time it got dark.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I live in Vallejo and it rained or sprinkled probably 4 times in the last 10 years and other times rain
would be on the forecast or it would be cold
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
In what year did it rain on Halloween? I don't recall that ever happening.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Might be different regions but last time I remember it raining was in 2016 and before that it
happened often or it would sprinkle. it’s stopped the past two years
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Yes! Every year, Halloween is the first day it gets really cold
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
When I was a kid the first rain of the season always seemed to fall on halloween (I know that probably
wasn't actually the case). Now I look forward to it but seems like these days it doesn't rain until January.

Saaaaaaame.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
So lucky. The real specter of Trump refusing to transfer power adds to the fun. Fascism AND wildfires,
joy.

as a woman, I'm wondering if I should think about removing my money from the bank in case the
government shuts down our access to credit cards and cash.

I had to put that book down about a third of the way in. Atwood is too fucking close to the
mark.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
what book?

Any prepper will tell you that having large amounts of cash on-hand in small and large bills is a
good thing to have for any kind of emergency or natural disaster.
Also, keep your car's gas tank always above half, and keep plenty of fresh water in your
household: 1 gallon per person per day, with enough to last at least 3 days minimum (or longer
if you anticipate a longer-term lack of access to clean drinking water).
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Yep. Keep some on the side of your house and covered up. Maybe have a shed in the
backyard with some of your survival supplies, if you have the space.

Phone banking to the swing states for Biden burned off the little good faith I had left. America is
an actively, enthusiastically stupid country.

Haha, thanks.

Sorry to burst your bubbles yall. Every now and then I check the 14 day weather forecast from the
weather network which tends to be pretty accurate with weather reports. I just checked it yesterday
and it showed there was a day of rain coming in next week. I checked again this morning which got
updated and now there’s no rain in sight. Fuck the pollution man.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I wouldn't treat the 14 day forecast as gospel. I'm pretty sure technology can only accurately
predict the next three days and beyond that is an educated guess from records.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
They predicted the heat wave this week about 5 days before it first heated up, so certain
patterns are predictable.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
It's fairly standard chaos theory. 1-2 days is usually accurate. 3-5 days will get some or most
conditions right but the timing might be off a bit.
5+ days is where it gets dodgy. Tiny differences between the model's measurements and reality
can result in completely different conditions emerging within a few days. Forecasts have
definitely got better as computing has become more powerful, but there's still so many ways
longer-range forecasts can go wrong.

Im showing chance of .06" Sat after next. Too far off and too small an amount to be reliable unfortunately
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
i can probably guarantee that it'll rain. i'm gonna wash my car this weekend. that'll guarantee rain.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
its not, but it'll be cooler. I was looking forward to riding my motorcycle but I literally crashed it yesterday
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Forreal, here in the Bay, fall weather doesn’t being until the week of Halloween. Then it suddenly starts to be
mid to high 60 everyday until the end of January.
permalink embed save report give award reply
I never expect the cool weather to start until after Veteran's Day. That way, when we get that random late
Oct/early Nov heat wave I'm not disappointed. But I still spend October bitter about all the advertising
pushing scarves and peppermint mochas 😅
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Boots for me. I miss wearing all the boots I had in the Midwest, maybe hats too. But right now it's
even weirder because I've been in PJs for months. I'm not sure I have a style anymore.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Does slouchy tee shirts and Costco leggings count as a style? Asking for a friend 😉
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
As long as hoodies and pj shorts count too! That Bay Area weather, gotta keep the hoodie on
but it's too hot for pants.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I know. We should have our own advertising, and swimsuit sales through September. Not that pools are
open. Sigh.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
<sigh>
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I miss the pool. I had no idea how much til I sprained my ankle in my backyard this summer
and reached out as I fell - and now i fear I have damaged rotator cuff as a result of not
exercising if that makes sense. I mean, I had SOME idea because I normally swim 5 days/week
but seriously losing the strength in my shoulder was unexpected.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Hang in there.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Solidarity. My spine has transformed into actual garbage since swimming pools closed.
They're starting to open but not sure how long it will last.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I got elastic bands but discovered that the cat tower is not heavy enough to use for
shoulder exercises -- unless I preload it with all the cats and they aren't very
cooperative.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I’m just upset that it’s October and it’s 100 degrees.
Wish I didn’t listen to the guy who told me not to buy a nice expensive AC unit. Ended up settling for a
cheap one that was only meant to cool down my bedroom after I got home from work around 6pm. It did
the job then, but now when I’m at home in my kitchen and living room all day and it’s 100 outside, this
thing can’t even keep up and it’s pretty much not even worth running. And I don’t even want to drop
money on the better unit now because not only is winter coming, but who knows if I’ll be still working from
home by the time it warms up again.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
At least the field of toxic fire smoke is keeping a few degrees off the heat.
permalink embed save report give award reply
tbf I was hoping the same. That's what happened the last fire. Heatwave then the smoke blotted
the sun.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Accurate except the fan is missing the necessary DIY filter attached to it for the smoke 😕
permalink embed save report give award reply
Halloween. It always at least sprinkles on Halloween without fail in the East Bay.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
When I lived in the Midwest, I thought I would like living somewhere that didn't have such severe weather. I
still don't miss the horrendous cold, but I didn't realize I would miss storms as much as I do. Grass is always
greener, I guess?
permalink embed save report give award reply
That's why I realized I'll need iced pumpkin spiced lattes instead of the hot version. Yeah...of we are lucky, it'll
cool down around the first week of November. 😩
permalink embed save report give award reply
The public needs to know of our plight. Maybe we can have "It's still hot in the Bay Area" awareness week
😏
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
We need this....it's so dry here....like the episode of spongebob, where he gets dehydrated and sick
from lack of moisture. I was so looking forward to wearing my timberlands and puff jacket during
October but probably can't until November 💯
I'm kinda tired of wearing summer clothes!
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Sometimes March! I swear there's always a rando 85 degree day in mid March.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Its true! I savor November - Feb now...cause I know that once Spring hits, it's already hot. I
love the sunshine, the heat....not so much. I feel like this is our 4th or 5th heatwave since May.
Just relentless 😭
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I know and I feel like everywhere I go people are like: "isn't it nice that the weather is holding up?"
No. It's not nice. It's against nature how hot it is.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I have lost so much sleep because It is so hot. I went to bed at 11:00pm 2 days ago and actually fell asleep at
4am

I moved here from the Northeast a few years ago and before that lived in the part of the Pacific Northwest
that starts getting snow around Thanksgiving.
I should know better by now, but somehow in my excitement for Fall I reverted back to my old life and bought
some really beautiful wool to make a skirt out of. WOOL. In the Bay Area. I don't even live in the city where it
might be cold enough some days. I don't know why I tease myself like this. Maybe I can wear it when I visit
my family in the Northwest someday post-COVID. But wow do I feel like a fool.
Praying for rain soon. This heat/fire/smoke situation is terrible!
permalink embed save report give award reply
It's not just you. I was born here and I still persist in attempting to wear infinity scarves on 9/22 only to
end up with active sweat pooling in said scarf. This month lies to us all 😩
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
It's at 102 so not great, hard to explain to the dogs why we can't just hang outside
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
The fall is what I missed the most from the Northeast. The fall colors look nice and the cool fall breeze is like
the most comfortable and ideal temperature; there's no sweat to content with and you just need a light jacket
to stay warm.
permalink embed save report give award reply
If only 😍
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
The eastern Sierras along 395 is amazing for fall colors, if you go there at the right time the entire side
of the mountain is red/orange/yellow!
This site does excellent fall foliage updates
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Stupid Hottober!
permalink embed save report give award reply
Right?? It's such a lie and it's going to be even more insufferable in our masks 🥵
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I moved from the Bay to Los Banos, man is it hot out here. Back home it was really hot a few days or weeks
out of the year, in LB its a few months.
permalink embed save report give award reply
I used to love it cause the rest of the country would be complaining about the cold while I'd still be hooping
outside in the sun.
But the last few years, the heat has gotten insane, and this wildfire smoke makes it impossible to hoop. Not to
mention the rona...
permalink embed save report give award reply
Yep. You know what I'm not looking forward to doing in a mask? RAKING.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
It doesn't seem that long ago we would have one or two weeks of intense heat over the course of the
summer. I was ok with that.
Now it's like July - October is just heat wave after heat wave. Fuck this shit
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Good for you. Don't let the weather stop you. I'll be eating soup and wearing a scarf. **dies of heat 😂
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I’ve never been looking forward for winter as much as this summer season.
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I tried looking it up, but it didn't give me automatic a/c! Apparently it costs money. Total BS if you ask me
😉
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
😂😂🤣🤣
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
I moved to the bay from Sac and was skeptical when no apts had AC. "You won't need it!" 90% of the year
this is true but that other 10% is torture.
permalink embed save report give award reply
I am in Daly City and it's normally all foggy and grey, but these past few years have even made me
starting to question that!
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
That’s why I always get the pumpkin cream cold brew from Starbucks to even it out haha

This is me trying to find shade. This heat is straight out of the deepest levels of hell.
permalink embed save report give award reply
Real talk I think we need to prepare for two more heat waves and a long month of 80 degree temps 😩
permalink embed save parent report give award reply
Not being able to open the windows on a hot day is a special kind of torture.
permalink embed save report give award reply
I grew up in south Florida. It's like that every day unless a cold front rolls on in, but they only last 48 hours
tops.
