I. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Identify the use of modals in the statement.
b. Use modals in expressing permission, obligation and prohibition
c. Foster the value of civic responsibility in dealing with the pandemic.
Concept: Modal is an auxiliary verb (helping verb) that expresses ability, permission, obligation
and prohibition. The modal verbs are: can, could, may, shall, should, must and have to.
And then, they will categorize their answers into this chart. (The teacher will ask the students in
which of their sentence expresses: Allowed/Not Allowed, Responsibility)
