This story begins when Falder is a junior clerk in the office of James How and Water
How. He lies with his company the crime that knows when James asked Water about
this month’s expenses, he saw expenditures in this month 90 pounds. Water answer
the expenses in this month is 9 pounds no 90 pounds. Their asked Cokesonb to
explain about expenses, he shocks when he looking the cheque and He says that he
gave the cheque to Davis and Davis brought the amount back. Cokeson verifies other
cheques but he is unable to find the word 'nine'.
James tells him that Davis is not there and he has gone to Australia. He says that there
is some foul play in the matter. Three of them come to a conclusion that it is clear
case of forgery. James goes towards the partner's room and talking with Cowley.
James enters the room and asks the cashier if he can recognize the person who has
cashed the cheque from his office. He says that none of them cashed the cheque.
James then enters Falder's room and interrogated him. He looking nervous when he
interrogated him. Finally, he telling the truth and he promises to pay the money back.
But James doesn't listen to his words. He feels that Falder has done a crime and is to
be punished for it.
In this stories is not focus one problem “ why ? “ because Falder has another problem.
He loved women had married. He loves her (Mrs. Ruth) and the feeling sorry because
Ruth’s husband, a drunken brute, had abused her until she would no longer stay with
him because he wants to kill her. She met with Falder he had planning to run away
together and telling for to meet him in booking office at 11:45 am. He promises will
marry her and live in another country

Back to the first case Hector as a lawyer defended him. Finally, Hector tried to press
the point that Falder had been almost out of his mind. Cleaver questioned Falder until
the clerk admitted that he had not known what he was doing. Then Cleaver declared
Falder had known enough to keep the money he had stolen and to turn in the sum for
which the check originally had been written. The jury found Falder guilty and the
judge sentenced him to three years.

When Falder was finally released on parole, Ruth Honeywell went to intercede for
him at How’s office. She intimated that she had kept herself and her children alive by
living with another man after she left her husband. And James telling what he listens
from Ruth, Falder frustrated and killed himself by jumping from the office window.

Moral value
1. Telling truth what you said no matter is good or not
2. Don't believe what stranger people said
3. The truth always be true and bad thing always bring another bad thing (evil)
