The 11-year-old wants to know how hard you think it would be for humanity to

decarbonize our energy system in time to prevent climate from changing too much. Is there
hope for 11 year old?

Today we are technically powerful enough that we can actually engineer the planet in some way.
With the help of geoengineering, we can mitigate global weirding.

 One of the main culprit of climate problem are CO 2. We can scrub CO2 from the
atmosphere which is similar to the ocean chemistry. Once we scrub off the CO 2, we can
store this in ocean or underground land.
 If we can put aerosol in stratosphere, it will led measurable cooling for a year and so.
These could help us with the global warming problem.
 In order to mitigate the problem, we have to cut down the emitting of CO 2. Use of
traditional wind mills, nuclear power plant can lead the way.
 For long term mitigation, there are two ways. One is lunar solar and another one is high
altitude wind mill.

All I want to state that we have the technology to reduce the carbon emission. We are able to
use the alternatives. We can lead an environment friendly life without damaging mother
earth. It’s not too late. But it’s high time to make the right decision. Till now we are not out
of options. We can leave a better earth for 11 year olds.
