1.How do we raise boys and girls differently and how does that affect them as
they get older?
Society raises boys to be brave, play rough, swing high and be rewarded for
taking risks without thinking about consequences and by the time they are
adults they are already used to taking risks and win. They weren’t expected to
be perfect so in the lack of that pressure they succeeded. It has never been the
same for girls. They were raised to be perfect, which meant avoiding risks and
failure. They became insecure about themselves and more likely to give up in
the future.

2. What did Carol Dweck find when she studied bright fifth graders who were
handed an assignment that was too difficult for them?
She found that boys enjoyed the assignment because they found it
challenging considering the fact that they didn’t think about failure and
worked even harder to complete it, while girls were quick to give up for not
feeling confident enough. It was all about the way they approached the
challenge

3. Men apply for a job if they meet 60% of the qualifications, whereas women
will apply for a job if they meet 100% of the qualification.

4. What are some practical ways that you think schools can help encourage
girls to be
brave?
- to speak with a teacher/school psychologist about there fears
- to do a subject about how to do business
- to do a subject about how we can develop ourselvesHomework
