Althalos’ Call

After the uncalled war of The Moors and the Kingdom of Ulstead, following the marriage of
Aurora and Prince Phillip, is the unification of both kingdoms. The relationship between humans
and mythical creatures are in harmony as they’re working as one to make a peaceful
community. Humans have been very welcoming and respectful to the creatures of The Moors,
as well as the fairies’ treatment to humans. People weren’t scared anymore and the guardians
of the forest opened their hearts to the familiar kind. Some humans and fairies married each
other and was the start of a new kind; the birth of half-human, half-fairy species. It has been
normalized since then. That results to Maleficent’s right hand, Diaval, having two sons; Althalos
and Frey.

Diaval found love through Alice, his wife that is serving queen Aurora. Alice first gave birth to
Frey, born human with minimal powers due to his dad and after 4 years was the birth of
Althalos, the half-human, half fairy. He is born with wings and with a substantial amount of
magical ability.

“Maleficent, why is that my son, Althalos, looks similar to the guardians of the nature when Frey
is not?” Diaval immediately spoke after he transformed from raven into human. She then stood
up and walked towards him.

“I’ve no idea, honestly. Maybe it just happens, since you aren’t really human.” Maleficent
answered elegantly. Her new black dress is prettily hugging her body. She spread her wings as
she turned Diaval back into a raven and they flew to where the baby, Althalos is.

Maleficent smiled at the sight of the little fairy laying on his back, and little wings…

“He’s special.” She smiled while looking at Althalos.

“I know he is.”
Years have passed and Diaval’s sons grew taking different paths. Frey, being a human serve in
the castle of Ulstead, being the right hand of Prince Philip. He is born with an insane amount of
intelligence. On the other hand, the younger, 18 years old Althalos chose to be with the
guardians of nature as he has magical powers.

Althalos grew up rash and silly but regardless of that, he still gets his work done. Since he was
young, he enjoyed flying and always thanks Maleficent as he thinks it was a gift from her.
Maleficent is one of Althalos’s target of his daily annoying stunts, alongside his brother Frey.
Since he was little, he’d always visit her and that’s why they’re close.

“Do you want to go in a mission?” Maleficent immediately spoke and asked Althalos.

“A mission? That’s interesting! I’ve been waiting for a mission my whole life Maleficent!”

Althalos’ eyes widened upon hearing the question and excitedly answers, “Yes, I’d like to go!
Tell me what I’m gonna do.”

Since the birth of new specie half-human, half fairy started, the population of both kingdoms
grew much bigger. There were almost no problems in the forests because there were a lot of
fairies. There’s a news spreading that a forest kingdom from their west, Berm Peak is suffering
from wild fires and the number of huntsmen is increasing every day. The animals are dying and
so is the nature. Maleficent, being the queen ordered fairies from the Moors to help them. Upon
thinking that, Althalos came to her mind and it’s the start of his new journey.
Althalos became the leader for the young fairies. Having his dad, Diaval being a raven, he has
acquired abilities similar to it. A raven's intelligence is apparent in its ability to communicate a
wide range of messages through its call. It can communicate warning, threat, taunting, and
cheer to other birds by varying the sound it makes. 3 days into the Berm Peak, he has been
giving warnings as to where the huntsmen are and giving directions on where to start putting out
the fire.

He is enjoying it. Every single day of the mission given to him seems like the dream for him. It’s
not like Althalos wasn’t doing anything in The Moors but it’s the adrenaline that he’s feeling in
the new place.

One day in the forest, his best friend Jonas was nearly shot by a hunter. They were out to
scheme the surroundings to spot the hunters and protect the animals. Jonas was standing on a
branch of the tree. As a fairy that don’t have much power, he can’t sense a threat. Luckily,
Althalos do and so he spread his wings wide, screamed loud and made a huge wave of wind by
his wings. The hunter stumbled as they saw Althalos. They ran back to their town with the news
that there are monsters in the forest.

Althalos is in trouble. The humans saw him and for sure they will be terrified thinking that fairies
are monsters, while in fact they’re the guardians of nature. He didn’t know what to do so the last
resort is to tell the story to Maleficent and his brother, Frey.

He flew back to The Moors and Ulstead that evening to inform them. Maleficent immediately
flew to Frey’s office and they talked about the possible solutions to the problem.

“Me and Prince Philip could go there and talk. They need to know the truth.” Frey suggested
firmly.

As the older brother that he is, Althalos just nods and wonders how does he have the coolest
brother on earth. Maleficent on the other hand agreed and flew back to her throne. He told
Althalos to be careful next time because little mishaps can cause a huge problem.
Althalos felt guilt as he fears that there would be another war. Him and his brother were left in
the room. Frey noticed the fear on his younger brother’s eyes and comforted him.

“Hey, don’t worry about it. You just saved your friend and it’s the right thing to do.” Frey walked
towards him and pat Althalos’ shoulder.

“But I should have been more careful… And now people are going to be scared again. What if
they don’t accept us?” Althalos started crying like a baby. Frey wasn’t really surprised because
he knows that his younger brother is soft hearted. He led him to the chair and sat down.

“I said don’t worry about it, kid, it’s not gonna happen again. If Ulstead accepted The Moors and
so is The Berm Peak. Tomorrow morning we’ll go there. You’d arrive first so lead the fairies well
and move in my command.”

Althalos flew back to Berm Peak and talked to the fairies. At first, they’re scared to appear in
front of unfamiliar citizen but he assured them that everything’s gonna be okay. The wild fire is
quickly decreasing but people at the town is in fear.

Frey and Philip’s group went to talk to the king and queen of the kingdom, at first, they had a
hard time believing it but in the help of Frey and Philip’s wisdom, it has been settled. Althalos’
team followed after Frey’s command. They were introduced to the people, including the hunters.
They explained what happened and informed them the effect of their bad doing towards nature.
A lot of humans feel ashamed and apologized. Althalos couldn’t believe that the kingdom
accepted them and the fairies who’s guarding the nature. It feels like a weight has been lifted off
of his chest.

“Althalos, my brother, if it weren’t for you, they will still live with fear and ignorance.” Frey
praised his younger brother and offered his hand for a handshake.

“B…but you helped me brother.” Althalos answered.

“No, it’s all you. You’re a hero for always thinking what’s the best for everyone. Your brave and
kind heart are something for me to be proud of. Shake my hand as a man!”

Atlhalos shook his brother’s hand and hugged him. He sure can’t wait for his new adventure.
