IV. Procedures:

A. Readings:
COMMON FARM EQUIPMENT

These are machineries used in crop production. They are used in land preparation and in
transporting farm inputs and products. These equipment need a highly skilled operator to use.
 Hand tractor is used to pull a plow and harrow in preparing a large area of land.
 Four wheel tractor is used to pull disc plow and disc harrow in preparing much
bigger area of land.
 Water pumps are used to draw irrigation water from a source.
 Thresher is a farm machine used to separate wheat, peas, soybeans, and other
small grain and seed crops from their chaff and straw.
 Corn dehusker is used to remove the husk from the corn. This reveals the corn
on the cob.
 Rice harvester is farm equipment used to harvest rice. In general, rice harvester
can be divided into walking type and driving type to satisfy different
requirements.
 Grass cutter/lawn mower is a machine utilizing one or more revolving blades to
cut a grass surface to an even height.
 Rice seeder is used for sowing germinated paddy seed directly in wetland field.
 Miller is used to remove the husk and the bran layers, and produce an edible,
white rice kernel that is sufficiently milled and free of impurities.
