October Homework/Project

Habitat Diorama

Instructions:

For this homework project you will need to build a habitat diorama (Parents are
encouraged to help with the assembly of the habitat). The habitat may be your
choice. You may use toys, props, paint, craft supplies, etc.

Please build your habitat in a shoe box. Your diorama should feature scenery,
animals and plant life associated with the habitat of your choice.

Habitat examples: Arctic, Jungle, Rainforest, Forest, Ocean, Desert etc…

Students will need to include 10 researched facts regarding their habitat.


Students should list them on a piece of paper and glue them to the back or side of
their habitat’s shoe box.

Dioramas are due on Tuesday, October 27thth. Students will be presenting their
dioramas and facts to the class that day.
Grading:

Diorama:

Student turned in project on time. Yes/No


The project was student created. Yes/No
Student created a diorama using a box to give it dimension. Yes/No
Student reported 10 accurate facts about their habitat. Yes/No
Students used appropriate animals and plants for their Yes/No
habitat.
Facts are neatly hand written and glued to the diorama. Yes/No

Presentation:

Student was on topic. Yes/No


Student was using appropriate voice. Yes/No
Student presented about both plants & animals. Yes/No
Student presented at least 5 facts about their habitat. Yes/No

Late assignments will result in a reduction of one letter grade for each day late.
For example: 2 days late, is a reduction of 2 letter grades.
