CHAPTER 16.
And there we go into a new story of a murderer, but, as we all know,
this story is not like the others, this one has special touch of how the
story is develop and the tools that were used to wrote it.
In this chapter we can see the evolution of grenouille when baldini
goes to grimal to buy him… is special how grenouille could make
connection with baldini knowing that he was a guy of few words,
then we can note that the “boss” of grenuille die because a carriage
hit him and some people found him died in the river.
It is here, where the story take more impressive events, when

baldini start to teach grenouille how to

make perfumes and the legends that this profession has, he, develop more
curiosity about all the smells of the world, his important powers of
perceive all the smells of the world, take him to start to make strange
things just for verify if all of the things that were in the world have an
specific smell. Baldini, in some way, erred telling him the legend of the
Egyptians, because here, grenouille could verify that the human body has
an smell but it is all in the soul.
What can I say of this chapter is that, the book, with this part try to
engage more and more the reader, we can experiment different
feelings in terms of understanding grenouille and having some type
of fear about what he was able to do just for experience the different
smells. In general, all the book is easy and heavy to read, all the
feeling that you can develop are fantastic, and how from slow words
all the scenes go quickly, it is amazing read this book, also because
the psicologic problems that grenouille had where interesting to
investigate, all the reasons of why he killed just for an essence. Each
part of the the chapter were detailed and explained with a touch of
simplicity and suspence, we could be able to feel the comas and the
points, which is a curious experience.
